The staff at this luxe - but trendy - hotel is amazing!! We checked in on Thursday night with Gio who could not have sweeter!! We had a fantastic room with incredible views of the city. On Sunday we found out that our flight home was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy and immediately went to the front desk. Christina assured...

Beautiful place and the hotel room was one of the best I've ever stayed in, with the floor to ceiling windows and very modern feel to it all. Loved the LES location, there was never a shortage of cool bars or brilliant food nearby. The only remotely negative thing I noticed was that the staff seemed a little "too cool...

We had a higher floor corner room and the view was stunning. The beds were very comfy (like at home with tempur bedding). Breakfast inthe morning was made fun and personal by Michele who advised us very well. If you want to say anything: internet could have been quicker.... As for the location - a bit off the beaten track...

Recently stayed at the Hotel on Rivington for business. The hotel exceeded all my expectations, from decor to service. As a hotel GM, I am very particular about service and this place didn't dissapoint. Michelle at the restaurant is amazing. Can't wait to return.

We were in town for a Barbra Steisand concert and since we found the Brooklyn hotel choices ubnderwhelming, we opted for The Hotel on Rivington, only a few subway stops from the new Barclay's Center. The entrance to the hotel is somewhat strange, you feel like you enter a cave! elevator takes you up to the second floor for check in....

Stylish hotel with wonderful views on the upper floors.Comfortable beds and a good location. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. And some very nice restaurants nearby. Would go back. The only complaint would be that we sometimes had to wait a while for the lift.

The location is perfect for daily trips to the many local restaurants, shopping and business. The hotel is just small enough to remain personal, including freshly baked cookies delivered to my room every evening, yet large enough to provide a wide range of services. Thank you, Michelle, for the pleasant daily breakfast greetings and to the management for hiring staff...

Elegant, contemporary, large (for NY) bright rooms - ours on the 16th floor had windows that opened and a balcony - spectacular views. Comfortable beds, great shower that actually had a view! Easy access to the subway, fascinating neighbourhood and great people watching from the second floor lobby while enjoying complimentary afternoon wine. Have blueberry pancakes for breakfast down stairs...

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
