If it were possible to provide a negative number I would. I booked this on Booking.com and spent $140+ per night. There is no elevator and I was given a room on the 4th floor. No assistance with the bags. The hotel site conveniently neglects to mention the lack of an elevator. This place is filthy. It bears very little...

I recently took a friend to NYC for her birthday and we stayed in Hotel 309. Upon arrival we learned we would be sharing a bathroom with the rest of the patrons on the 3rd floor when our initial reservation stated we would have a private bathroom. The rooms were incredibly dirty and the bathrooms were beyond unacceptable. Someone had...

Stayed here for a couple of nights and found it really handy. It is literally a 30 second walk to the subway station which can take you most places around manhatten and has restaurants and convenience stores right across the road. We were on the second floor and actually found it surprisingly quiet. The only down side to the second...

We had a room for three with a private bathroom and really enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were good and unexpected as it wasn't mentioned in the services. Coffee and juice were excellent. We enjoyed eating in the courtyard and playing with Bronx the hotel cat. We also enjoyed playing table tennis for free in the courtyard. The location of...

Affordable hotel with a friendly front desk manager and not to mention the free breakfast. If you want an excellent location at a fair price I would book this hotel. One more plus.... There's a cute little cat named Bronx that greets you when you walk in.

The rooms are shabby - the windows have not been cleaned in decades - the blinds do not work - there were no tea towels in the room - the safe did not work and as a result of the manager looking after my possessions I lost $350 which just disappeared because he did not put it in the hotel...

Hello, We were aware this review would be posted as the guest made clear that this review would be posted unless we provided compensation. This guest stated the following to the hotel: "I am missing 350 dollars and this was the money I was going to use to pay for the hotel, so I cannot pay for the hotel. If...

After staying at the hotel last week and reading some of the reviews on here i felt like i had to add my piece... It really does surprise me what some people are really expecting when they check into a "budget" hotel in NYC..If you're looking for a classy, uptown NYC hotel like you see in the movies then this...

I am traveling for business and booked Hotel 309 through my companies travel management system. I booked in a hurry and didn't realize that the normal room has a shared bathroom instead of a private bathroom. When I asked the front desk attendee if he could upgrade me (at my expense) to a room with a bathroom, he told me...

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. I had the unfortunate experience of staying in this disgusting hotel in NY. We were looking for a slighter cheaper but nice accommodation in the heart of Manhattan, and thought we had found a perfect hotel... We were greeted by the receptionist who was blunt and sarcastic, after we had a long bus journey....

For those who likes the beauty of the NYC and want to be out of the crazy tourist noise, a good choice in the core of Chelsea. Not for exigent people, needs improvements in the common areas and shared bathrooms. The rooms are like the pictures, very comfortable and the kitchen is super useful.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
