I stayed at Hotel 309 for 10 nights. Now I've stayed in nicer digs in NY that were a little cheaper, but they were booked out and Hotel 309 still had availability at short notice (probably because its a bigger hotel with more rooms). A few bullet points - They don't have a 24 hour front desk so prefer that...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your Hotel 309 experience. Yes, all the floors in the building are similar, two hallway bathrooms per floor, 6-8 rooms share the two bathrooms. Glad to hear the bathrooms were cleaned and your room was maintained well while you stayed with us. A ceiling fan is a great idea,...

Stayed for 6 nights at Hotel 309. The rooms are small but have everything you need: comfortable bed, TV, radio receiver, fridge, sink, MW oven, closet. We had to share restrooms but we never had to wait and the facilities were always clean. The location is great and the staff is really friendly and willing to help. What I didn't...

Bottom line, I would not hesitate to return to Hotel 309 on my next NYC trip. Upside: Clean, comfortable bed with mini-fridge, coffee maker & microwave; spectacular location with ACE/L subway 1/2 bl away, plentiful cabs, convenient to Penn Station, nr nightlife & excellent restaurants all at a cost about 1/2 what other hotels in the vicinity would charge. Downside:...

I stayed here at the end of July 2010 and picked the hotel due to its great location (14th and 8th, right next to the A/C/E subway line) and its price ($145/night for a private room/bath). In short, I will never stay here again. Despite the location, the hotel is a glorified dump. There is no elevator, and my room...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your Hotel 309 experience. We are truly sorry that you had a negative experience staying at our accommodations. We stayed in Hotel 309 from June 17th to 24th 2010 on a tight budget package. There were 41 of us, 3 chaperons and 38 20-ish-year-old vocational training school students. We were looking for a rather cheap yet comfy hotel in the heart of Manhattan but wished to exerience a true hotel instead of a basic hostel. Hotel 309 was...

I was very hesitant when booking a stay at 309 due to some mixed reviews, but after the weekend in NYC i would stay here anytime. It is pretty much a low cost no frills studio apartment type hotel. Think a step above a hostel. The room and shared bathroom were clean, the staff friendly, and location was perfect.

I was worried about staying but... I traveled with my family of six (two small kids included). We stayed at Hotel 309 for an entire week. Our two room suite was clean and convenient. This apartment style room was perfect for our needs. There is good electronic security on the front door and strong locks on the room door and it was neat and clean. These are my two most important features. We came to New York to explore, not sit in a room, so we didn't pay for costly amenities we would not...

My boyfriend and I just spent this past weekend at Hotel 309, we had a great stay. We had stayed at this hotel a few years back, and it's actually improved A LOT, under new management, maybe? Our purpose for the trip was to visit NYU, and this hotel worked for us because 1) it was walking distance to Washington Square Park, and 2) it didn't cost much ($99/night), which leaves us more money to pay for tuition next fall. Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
