So the only reason I stayed here was because my cousin from out of the country was staying in the area...so I shopped around....NEVER AGAIN!! I often stay in NYC when attending concerts or just wanting to have some local fun....I usually stay at one particular property in Chelsea however I wanted to be near the cousins so I booked...

Hotel Mela was an adorable boutique hotel located right off of Times Square. You literally could walk less than a quarter of a mile and you were there. The hotel room was very, very small, but from reading other reviews it seems like this is a common trend in New York. The elevator was also incredibly tiny, so I don't...

Perfect location and excellent service. As others have stated, the rooms are small. We had a king size bed and it took up nearly the whole room. The only reason I didn't rate this hotel a 5 star, was because of the Internet. We were on the 4th floor and the connection was awful! Sometimes it worked and sometimes it...

I booked this hotel via phone through Travelocity. I explained that I had a niece coming into the city for one night and needed a room big enough that a cot could be brought in. (NYC has strict laws on this because so many of the hotel rooms are so small) The woman on the phone told me the Mela...

We stayed 6/28 - 7/1 in an Executive King room. Clean and comfortable, the room was spacious by NYC standards. Staff were all attentive and helpfu and even provided several treats in honor of my partner's birthday. On our last evening, guests in the adjacent room decided it might be fun to set off the fire alarm, and later, at...

When I arrived at Hotel Mela for the second time, I found a very small room without a desk (I was at an educational conference and needed a desk). The staff worked to change my room to give me a desk and were very accomodating. They were all courteous and friendly, working hard to give guests a wonderful experience at...

I travel on business about 3 weeks out of every month. Big city hotels tend to be snobby and unreliable. Not the Hotel Mela! The staff is courteous, the rooms very clean and I've never been disappointed with a stay I switched my loyalty to this hotel from a major chain and have stayed here several times. They provide the...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
