When you go back we will stay there again. It is with in walking distance of everything. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay as easy as possible. The front desk staff helped us arrange for a car because we forgot. The Desires desk had a list of all the great places to eat and some hotspots....

I stayed at Hotel Mela for 5 nights from 22 May and it met all of my expectations which were purely based on other Tripadvisor Reviews and Photos. Yes the 4th floor Studio Room I had was relatively small but it was comfortable and all I needed to rest my body after long days of exploring this wonderful city. I...

We stayed 3 nights at the Mela and loved it. The room was small, European like, but very clean and well appointed. The location and staff were both awesome. Within 2 blocks you can see Times Square (yes it's touristy, but go once anyway), a Broadway play, ride the subway anywhere, or eat great food. The central Manhatten location was...

I would like to get one thing clear from the start of my review. My rating is based only on my first impressions of this hotel and the fact that I had to ask to change rooms and that the state of the first room we were given was a complete joke. My initial description of the hotel and the...

For New York, the room size was fine. I booked the deluxe and there was more than enough room for my daughter and I to walk around even with luggage piled up. There was NO VOSS water like in the pictures in the gym, which makes sense since they charge you $10.25 for Figi water if you drink the bottle...

I was really pleased with our room at the Hotel Mela. The location on West 42nd right off of Times Square could not have been more convenient to the theaters, 5th Avenue shopping, Rockefeller Plaza and midtown New York. Although we were in Room 311, which was lit by a rather dark light well, our room was extremely quiet. The...

This was a last minute booking for business and it was a typical NY stay. The rooms and elevators are small as expected, but it is clean and the location is great. I booked late and arrived late and was accommodated by the staff. The coffee in the room is not very good. Get a cup somewhere else. Next time...

A very nice boutique hotel 1block from Times Square. Very friendly young staff. Room was small but very modern in decor. Bed very comfortable. Because of size no hustle bustle or large tour groups which was great. Very convent location in Thatre District and Bryant Park. Lots of public transportation nearby.

We stayed at the Hotel Mela prior to going on a cruise. The location right in the heart of NY and a few metres away from Times Square was fabulous. We were able to walk to Broadway quite easily. Handy to great restaurants, and we were very comfortable indeed. The staff were courteous, and helpful.

Had a very nice stay at Hotel Mela. Fantastic location. Staff was very friendly and could not have been more helpful. I just have 2 small complaints: 1) Lighting in the room was too dim. I like to be able to make the room bright. 2) I understand that bathrooms in New York are typically small and this was no...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
