The hotel is pretty good, centrally located between penn station and Chelsea, close to public transportation. Rooms are large by NY standards. Free tea and coffee. Friendly staff. It was just a convenient, comfortable stay and recommend it for both business and leisure.

Thank you for staying with us. We hope you enjoyed your visit to NY. We are literally minutes away from many places and one of them being Penn station. If you love Korean food, Korean town is just several blocks away. FIT is just within couple minute walk. If there is anything we can do to make your stay a "5", please let us know. Sincerely, Sung

Hotel's Favourite
I spent 7 nights here last month and couldn’t have been more pleased. Taneika at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! Liza (I think that’s what her name tag said) at breakfast was terrific every single morning. The room was comfortable and extremely clean. I didn’t find a speck of dust anywhere! AC was flawless. Typical room size for NYC — perfect for two travelers. I was upgraded to a high floor room and was thanked for being a Hilton Honors Diamond member. Easy access to two different subway lines (one either direction) and only about a 5-7 minute walk from Penn Station, where we arrived and departed the city. Give or take, about a 15-20 minute walk to Times Square. I absolutely, positively, 100% recommend this property. Thank you for a great stay!

Hotel Staff were friendly, professional and so nice to us. Every person we encountered in the hotel was so accommodating. Room was quiet, a/c was cold-cold which was great, never an issue with elevator wait times. Plus a great location for our needs.

Location is here great. We are couple blocks from K-town, FIT, etc. Several blocks from Time Square, but it's ok. We all walk in NYC. We have an amazing staff that just loves to take care of our guests. Thank you for recognizing their hard work. Love you to have again next time you come to NYC. Sincerely, Sung Park

Location near Penn Station & MSG is good but beware of the breakfast included option when you book. You pay extra for breakfast to be included & then they want $18 more to just get an egg. If bread & cereal is all you want the ok.

My partner and I stayed at the Hilton hotel for a few nights at the end of August / beginning of September. The hotel was average, very basic, no safe in the room which was a shame. The location was pretty good though. A few days after checkout I looked at my bank statement and discovered I had been charged twice - an additional £600 on top of the reservation cost of the stay. I phoned Hilton and they managed to send me my billing receipt. I had been charged $700 for ‘water damages’. I phoned the hotel and asked to speak to the general manager. He was rude and defensive from the start, stating that I didn’t need to be put through to him and that I could have spoke to any member of their staff about this. He informed me that the taps had been left on in the room which resulted in two hotel rooms flooding. This was new information to us as we left the hotel room in good condition and definitely did not leave any taps on. We asked for photo evidence but he said that he did not have the photos but that they were on the assistant manager’s phone. It seemed strange that they would not be documented in the hotel system considering the $700 worth of ‘damage’ we had been accused of making. We also asked whether the sink or bath/shower taps had been left on, he could not give us this information either. He took my email address and agreed to copy me into an email to the assistant manager. I am yet to receive any email about this. I asked how to dispute the charges and he said that we could dispute it through him but he won’t do anything as the damage is there. He then said that we could dispute through our credit card company but we won’t get any money back as they will likely phone him and he will tell them about the damage so they will decline our request. To say that this experience ruined our holiday would be an understatement. It has caused considerable stress and has left us feeling powerless and out of pocket. As we are from the UK we are unable to visit the hotel again in person to confirm the damages. Even if they do send photo evidence then we cannot trust that it is from the room we stayed in, that a burst pipe or something else may have been responsible for the damage after we checked out or that the damage was caused by a guest who used the room after we left. After this experience, my partner and I looked at some of the reviews on tripadvisor from other guests who have stayed here. There are quite a few reviews from previous guests reporting unauthorised and fraudulent charges. Unfortunately I don’t think we are the first couple to experience this and we likely won’t be the last. I would avoid this hotel at all costs. I do not trust the hotel at all and their lack of professionalism when trying to solve this problem has been incredibly disappointing.

Negatives weren't major: The toilet ran. I mentioned it and they may have come to fix it. It's actually a slightly larger negative that they cleaned the room even though a card said they wouldn't clean unless you requested it, and they seemed to have come to fix the toilet also without letting us know. I like to know when someone is entering my room, especially when there's no safe provided to store valuables, which was the case here. The window was cracked, and we could hear street noise from our 8th floor room. I'd suggest requesting a higher floor. The positives include a very nice breakfast room and kind staff who let my Mom come down a bit late to have her decaf and muffin. The front desk staff was also good. A bellhop flagged us a cab quickly one day. They kindly stored our luggage. The neighborhood is fun, with wholesale florists surrounding the property. There's a good quickie deli around the corner on 6th. The subway is a short walk away, as is Penn Station. Hudson Yards and the Highline aren't far either. All in all, we often stay in HGI because of its good value and the convenient breakfast, and this one doesn't disappoint.

One employee at the front desk refused to let my friend enter the elevator even after she stated my name and the room number correctly; the employee kept saying my friend had a bad attitude. This is very disappointing: all employees at this hotel are nice, except one, and that employee ruined my night.

Hotel is on a street filled with plant shops which makes it nice to walk down. The location was good. Staff were pleasant and helpful although the room wasn’t ready when they said it would be and we ended up waiting an hour and a half longer than they said. The city view I pad extra for wasn’t really worth it. All we could see was one not particularly interesting building and the backs of some others. Rooms were large for NY though. I did get the feeling that it was starting to look a little down at heel. The bed linen was bobbling and the bed felt like it was beginning to sag a little. Aircon was very noisy. The elevators were quick and we didn’t have to wait long at any time. Breakfast was run of the mill but servers were friendly.

Well I booked via Expedia and unfortunately my mother in law passed away 4 days before my trip. I immediately contacted Expedia so they could contact the hotel and even called the general manager (left a voicemail) so I would not be charge for the stay as it was not something I could even have anticipated (even offering to send a copy of the death certificate) but got charge for the room anyway and when I left a review via Expedia (as they asked how my stay was…) it got « rejected » after 1 month of it being submitted…. So moral of the story the current manager of the Hilton Chelsea just does not care about anything but her bottom line short time.
