Stayed at the Jazz city hostel for 10 days and loved every minute. Shared a private room with my sister an although the room was basic, it was spacious, clean and fresh towels/beds made every day and had tv an air con. The staff were the loveliest! Mike's a darlin, always there to help. The location was PERFECT. Upper west...

My first imprsssion of this hostel was very poor. A man who had checked in just before us was at reception saying that the bed he was allocated was taken by someone else. He was then allocated another bed. whilst the receptionist was trying to locate our booking, the man returned again saying that the second bed he was allocated...

We stayed at Jazz on the City for three nights in November, in a double ensuite room. It was not bad for a crash pad in Manhattan, particularly considering how pricy accomodation is there. The room was small but clean, with drawers, TV and bed, and the small ensuite was very clean and had a powerful shower. It is very...

Stayed with a group of university students (as a chaperone) from Canada from Oct 22-27/08. I have stayed at Jazz on the Park on two previous occasions and I must say, Jazz on the City is the one I prefer! You are only one block if that from the subway station on 96th, there are a few Dunkin Donuts nearby...

We stayed here for 2 nights, the first night was in a double room and the 2nd in a 4 bed dorm. I was pleasently suprised at the room. Both rooms had en-suite bathrooms and were super clean. You could even smell the cleaning products! We were on the third floor and both rooms had a very patchy air conditioning/heater...

In general, I was really pleased with my stay. The hostel is located in a pretty good neighborhood on the Upper West Side (95th street). It's approximately one block away from any of the red line trains and three blocks from the blue line trains. The hostel had six floors. The lobby occupied the first floor and the sixth floor...

The staff were quite helpful and friendly and the rooms were acceptable although a fraction small. The main problem though was there was no kitchen available and the common room was very small. There was no lift either which made walking up 5 stairways very difficult with the amount of luggage we'd accumulated over a lengthly tour.

Stayed at the Jazz on the city 8/31-9/3. I have never stayed at a hostel before and was quite leary. My travel partner insisted that we travel as cheaply as possible and this was the best option that also included a private bath. I love this place and will stay here every time I visit NY. While most hostel cater...
