Spent the weekend in NYC to visit the 9/11 memorial museum, and for a Yankee Game. The room was dirty, food crumbs and coins underneath the bed. Never received clean towels. The elevators were a complete nightmare. Prepare to wait 30 mins in the morning or during check in time. For such a large hotel you would think they would have more elevators. Didn’t help that room service/ house keeping closed one of the elevators for a majority of the day allowing guests access to only 2 of the elevators. Location was a plus, easy walk to several attractions, great restaurants and the subway.
We stayed at this hotel for 5 days, we did not get fresh towels or our room cleaned until day 4 after I called and complained on day 3! This is a 50-floor hotel with only 3 elevators, 1 of which housekeeping takes over from around 7 am until 9 am! We had to wait daily almost 30 mins to get to the lobby!!! The front desk is little or no help if you need questions answered, they advertise that they have concierge service, when we checked in and I ask the girl she didn't even know what that meant!!!!
Had a great stay at the holiday inn - with just a couple of issues , and yes one is the lifts ! But do not let this put you off . The hotel is well located approximately 5 min walk from the world trade centre ,10 min to the battery and convenient to the rector street subway station . There are lots of places to eat nearby and a 24 hour deli almost next door . The hotel has 50 floors and my advice would be to go as high as possible as you have more chance of getting into an empty or near to empty lift . We were on the 43rd floor and very rarely had an issue , although you do sometimes have a wait for one going up . The room was a good size , very clean with lovely views of the city - and in my brothers case over towards the river . The bathroom was small but had a great walk in shower and dove products. There was a coffee machine in the room and a large tv - the only addition that would be good would be a fridge . There is luggage storage available In reception. There is an attached restaurant and we have a very nice Chinese meal there and also the buffet breakfast which was good value for money . For the most the staff were great although there were a couple of issues. My brother had a problem with his toilet which he reported on going out for the day and was told would be sorted while we were out . On our return that evening it had not and when we went to reception the guy we spoke to actually laughed at us !! He then tried to say ‘oh it’s because I’m new ‘ ?! We spoke to someone else and they quickly and professionally organised the repair to be done . Our other issue is that with the lifts being so busy and in demand it was annoying to often have to share them with staff taking the lift to the 2nd floor ! However this is a great hotel and would definitely stay again…
Location and price were good. The rest, not so good. The room was small, dusty, out of date and poorly insulated (we were woken up by other guests coming back in the middle of the night on several occasions). We had to wait for 15 minutes sometimes to get a lift on our floor. Location however was really good, very central.
Overall stay was good, friendly staff, clean rooms Design of the rooms could be better. King room with tiny bathroom and no counter space at all. 3 elevators for 50 floors so sometimes you had to wait for 3 or 4 cars.
Beds are so comfortable, everything is clean, perfect location to visit most iconic spots in Wall Street walking and very close to the subway station. Just queen beds are small for two persons but not problem
Stayed for 3 nights. Good points: - Location was surprisingly convenient. Loads of eating options including for breakfast. Easy to get a table in the evenings at venues - Great for public transport as many subway stations nearby - Not as hectic as Times Square area, but easy to get there - Parking Garage (not the official one recommended by the hotel) about 50 yds from the hotel and a fairly reasonable 50USD a day. You keep your keys also - We were told we'd get a city view but got a river view. Nice but not as described - On the higher floors the elevator was less of an issue as normally it arrived fairly empty - Staff we dealt with were friendly and efficient - Price ok compared to other Manhattan hotels Cons - Elevator is indeed a nightmare. Its a 50 floor hotel with 3 elevators. Anyone on floors 5 to 40 is going to have huge problems getting down during peak periods. We were on floor 48, we were lucky in that regard but often waited ages for the elevator to come - No fridge in room. We used the ice machine and filled the recycling bin with ice and drinks - No way to park car legally to drop off cases - Room was clean, but not that modern. It was small room like most Manhattan rooms but just about ok for 3 of us Overall I would stay again but only if I couldn't find somewhere else in the area. It's ok, not outstanding.…
Location is good but rooms are very small no fridges no microwave and only coffee the room will be clean only once in 3 days. Check in was normal and staff are good. Lift to the rooms can take longtime until you get it.Nothing free was available such as drinking water.
The front desk was very incredibly friendly and welcoming when we first arrived. I also want to pay a special mention to the housekeeping crew at this hotel because they are all sincere and helpful. Only when I returned to Texas did I discover that I had forgotten my glasses. My spectacles were taken care of by the hotel's housekeeping staff, and all I had to do was send them a return shipping label once I called the hotel. I appreciate this workplace's staff members' sincerity and helpfulness. Approximately 45 stories make up the hotel, which is the tallest Holiday Inn in the world. During rush hour, the elevator is a bit slow, but normally it works perfectly. A good view of the Hudson River and Jersey City across the river is available if you book specific accommodations.
The hotel was incredible. Internet worked perfectly, average speed was 50mb, which was incredible for late night Netflix. Room was perfectly cleaned. Elijah, at the front desk helped me with recommendations, about local places and was super helpful in general. I would definitely come back here. The location couldn’t be better, you have three subway lines within 5 minutes of walking distance. Only thing you need to take into account is the elevator, sometimes it can get full.
