The Four Points by Sheraton New York Downtown offers a stay that is appreciated by guests for its professional and friendly service, with staff members frequently going the extra mile. While opinions on value and room size vary, with some finding the hotel budget-friendly and others commenting on the small quarters, the prime location is a highlight for many, providing easy access to downtown attractions. The atmosphere presents a dichotomy, as the bustling, noisy lobby contrasts with the peaceful ambiance found in the clean, well-kept rooms.

Pre check in the manager helped us change our rate as it had lowered since booking - this did take multiple calls between us and different teams, central reservations need more training for sure. We had a speedy check in and were surprised at being able to check in early the day before new years eve. Staff were friendly throughout, we had a do not disturb sign on and the letter informing me about the service after 2pm is an excellent idea. The room was clean and had all we needed and the hotel is located in a quiet area but close to subways and the financial district, all we could have asked for. Only criticism would be that we asked for a blanket and were given a bed sheet which looked rather old and worn out, given the temperatures New York can get too I was expecting a thicker/fleece style blanket. I would stay again for sure.

My wife, son (6 years old) and I had been visiting family in New Jersey and decided to take the Seastreak ferry into Manhattan. We got off the ferry at the Wall Street pier and it was only about a 10 minute walk to the hotel. We requested early check in and late check out with our Titanium status and the room was ready before 9 am! We were also granted a 4 pm check out on a Tuesday and our Suite Upgrade cleared two days prior!!!!

It was nice to have the extra space in the larger room with our son. While we didn’t spend a ton of time at the property, it was nice for us to not have to sit on the bed while in the room. Our room was pretty much what the photos show, so I did not include extra pics.

The hotel has a roof top bar that was cool to check out. I had one happy hour Vodka Tonic that set me back $12 and tip. The Chinese restaurant on the ground floor connected to the hotel was doing a refresh so they are closed for the next two weeks as of July 31. So unless you go to the rooftop, you do not have a bar or restaurant connected to the hotel.

I went next door to Henry’s Italian for dinner. Servings are large and it’s a 2 minute walk back to the hotel. I thought the menu was great. Had leftovers to bring home since the wife and kid wanted to relax in the room. The room did have a mini fridge and microwave to warm up the food with.

We got a great AAA rate and thought about staying at the AC hotel a few blocks away that we had enjoyed before, but the SNA upgrade not being available at the AC, and the good rate of $173 with tax included made this property a good value and we had a great stay!!!

All of the amenities are closed which I can understand but they had absolutely no perks for Platinum Elite members which was disappointing. The rool was nice but shows wear and tear on the couches, walls and ceilings but it did not feel 'unclean'. Was forced to sign a waiver promising not to have parties but still heard music in other rooms and smelled marijuana in the hallways. Homeless people take shelter outside the hotel and harassed some guests. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could but not one of Marriott's best hotels. Consider nearby Marriott Downtown on West St

I had a very poor experience staying here. Firstly, I arrived in the room upon check-in with wet towels on the sink and the carpet was stained with some white liquid — both of which I complained about to the concierge. They offered to change my room but they were only able to offer a smaller room than I currently had without offering a lower nightly rate so I refused.

The dispensers in the bathroom that were labelled “Shampoo”, “Body Wash” and “Conditioner” all had the same product. I had asked the concierge if it was supposedly like that and they said no so they had called up housekeeping to fix it. As the staff came in, I was told that they were all supposed to be the same. The inconsistency is unacceptable as well as the quality of the toiletries/products provided. Most hotels would at least have a separate conditioner.

On my second night, the heaters seemed to stop working so I was shivering all day. I had called to complain about it and they sent in an engineer to reset the system. The next day, it stopped working again. The shower took 5 minutes to heat up too. They had to call in the engineer almost everyday until I had grown tired of it and just slept in a cold room.

Lastly, there was hair in the cups that they provided in the bathroom. This is absolutely not the kind of service I was expecting from the hotel as I have stayed in previous Marriott properties with decent to excellent experiences. The poor hygiene is just also very unacceptable.

*If you have business in the Financial District, location wise the hotel is very well situated, short walking distance from Wall Str, Water Str, etc.

And now on to the letdowns:
*Not everyone at the reception was very helpful or polite, some were quite dismissive
*Rooms are very small. It's a very tiny space, hardly had any space between the wall/"wardrobe" and bed to open a standard sized suitcase.
*Rooms are also not very well-kept. There was dust, spots on the walls, ripped wallpaper, etc.
*Elevators are slow and it takes ages to go up or down. Some elevators weren't functioning properly during my visit.
*Fresh linen was also a joke - bed sheets weren't changed.
*Aircon or whatever that thing was in the hole in the wall was awfully loud and the air hits you directly wherever you are in the small room
*Rooms aren't soundproof and you can easily hear what's going on in the corridor or in the rooms next you

Not impressed with this hotel. I didn't even spend that much time in the room, I was there just to get some sleep. The overall feel of everything was old and tacky which was in huge contrast to the flashy images of the facade one encounters when first searching the hotel. I guess it's ok if you're visiting and just need a place to sleep but still not worth the money.

It all started when I first arrive the staff it perfectly says on bookings.com that this hotel provides free complementary breakfast in the mornings I ask one of the staffs what time does breakfast start and he said they don’t serve breakfast. Second I ended up getting locked out of my room because the lock system ended up breaking so I ended up out of my hotel room locked out of my hotel room for seven hours straight because we had to wait for the IT man (handyman) to come into work. Another negative thing is every time you use the elevator at this hotel you had to swipe your card to go up and down and and many times the card doesn’t work in an elevator you have to constantly swipe the card multiple times in order for it to finally work. If you’re reading this review and you’re thinking about booking at this hotel please don’t do it the hotel quality overall is horrible the outside environment it’s not that pretty is trash everywhere on the ground. The only perks of staying at his hotels are so that it is close to subways

I liked this hotel. To start check-in was easy, we got in early so we had to just leave our luggage with them while our room was getting ready. We came back around 10pm and got our things. The King bedroom is a little small but since we didnt spend too much time there it was fine. the bathroom was surprising spacious with free bodywash/shampoo/conditioner.

The location was nice in FiDi, though it is a 5-7min walk to different subway stations and a little

I recently stayed at the Four Points Sheraton in New York and it was a complete nightmare.

The room they gave me was right next to the central heating and aeration system, so I couldn't sleep at all during my stay.
I called the reception during the night to let them know about the issue, but they didn't have a solution for me.

In the morning, I left the hotel, complained, and asked for a refund.

The "complimentary" breakfast for titanium members was also a joke - it was the worst breakfast I've ever had in a Marriott property.

The guest service offered to compensate me in points, but it took them 10 days to even credit them to my account.

When I tried to call them again 3 weeks later, they didn't even answer the phone. I would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone. It's a complete joke. They don't have a reliable guest services and it's a shame for the Marriott brand. The hotel managers needs to be changed urgently; meanwhile stay away from this hotel at all costs.

I will upload a video on internet about this, where you can hear the loud noise that was active every now and then. Multiples times per minutes

On my 5th holiday to my favourite city we decided to stay downtown this time and I’m so glad we did. A 2 mins walk from the World Trade Center site and loads of subway stations without too many crowds.

Hotel was nice, however one little peeve was that the bed was never made probably. Sheet hanging out every day which was annoying. However room was nice and location was the selling point for this place as we only were there to sleep.

They were meant to have, but neither that or the bar was open when we were there. Fear not, there are loads of eating places within 2 mins of the front door, including a traditional American diner. The bar opposite is open till late.
