Great central location ! Rooms were clean and comfortable, although not huge, but you don’t come to New York to stay in your hotel room do you!!!😃 The downside was there were only 2 lifts which meant there could be quite a wait at busy times. We were on the 4th floor so could take the stairs to save the wait but you’d not want to do that if you were on the 30th!! The aircon / heating unit was a bit noisy too and could keep you awake as there was no way of turning it off all together. Would stay here again as not bad for a budget hotel 👍
We absolutely loved this Hotel. We are a family of four, two teenage sons, so booked two double rooms. We researched everything well and this Hotel did not disappoint. We already knew about the lifts and lack of restaurant etc so no worries there. The hotel rooms were fantastic, clean, big enough, great linen and towels etc. Staff and reception very nice and helpful. We were here for 8 nights and could have stayed longer. Location of course is awesome and no one should give the stories of people hanging around the hotel a second thought. It is NYC for goodness sake, any big city has its people issues, absolutely no nuisance or safety issues in that regard. I mean if you are from Milton Keynes or Reading it might come as a bit of a culture shock but not for the more experienced travellers. I would recommend to make an early request for a lower level room, we were on the 5th floor which was great and made it easy to come and go. Highly recommend heading over to 9th Ave for cool restaurants and cafes rather than the more touristy or Times Square areas. Would definitely stay here again, just so nice and convenient.…
Good location for exploring the big apple. 5-10 minute walk to Time Square. Rooms are very small basic but its to be expected in New York. I only used room to sleep and shower etc. staff are very friendly and helpful. I found this hotel too busy for my likely. sometimes you have wait along time for the lift. would I stop here again? no, i would prefer to be a little bit outside of the main rush.
Excellent location . Room had 2 double beds which were comfortable . Very quiet room , Only 2 lifts which meant a slight wait sometimes but wasn’t a problem . Staff were helpful & friendly . Apparently , homeless people sit on the benches outside but never saw that . Only complaint is no restaurant & bar but looks like there’s one coming soon . I’d go back & stay here again
Before I came I read reviews and was worried ! Don’t be we are here now and the hotel is fab , 2 double beds clean hotel & cleaned daily , outside yes there is some homeless people but they don’t bother you one bit . Security & nypd outside we have felt very safe You are next to port authority bus station right next Times Square you can walk everywhere or jump on the bus tours outside hotel also Rocky on reception has been fab so thank you rocky Would definitely stay here again
Family and friend trip to NYC for Phantom of the Opera and experiencing NYC at Christmas. 4 people, 2 rooms. I would give zero stars for the fact that my daughter and I both were hit with extra charges for reasons the hotel couldn't adequately explain. I paid for one room, she paid for the other. Sharee was a bright spot and left us with a smile and an expectation that they had fixed everything. Unfortunately, due to the way credit holds are processed, we are both missing available credit until everything clears out. The elevator situation at this hotel is horrible. Two small elevators for a 36 floor hotel, and housekeeping shares those elevators. There is a sign posted in the elevators directing guests to use the elevators at nonpeak times. The location is GOOD for Times Square and Broadway, but not GREAT, there are hotels closer to the heart of everything there that may be a better choice. The style of entrance, recessed with a courtyard, does seem to invite homeless people to hang out there, but I never felt unsafe coming or going with my family. Drug use and homelessness is not the fault of the hotel. There was no breakfast and no restaurant, not a deal breaker, the website correctly reflected this, so it wasn't unexpected for us. Rooms were clean but small, nothing felt outdated - bed was comfortable and the water was hot and plentiful. Bathroom reasonable sized, large walk in shower. Sharee is 100% of the three stars. Given the billing problems we experienced daily while there, not one time was I able to speak with the General Manager despite repeat requests. Nor did the GM reach out to apologize for the situation. Although I recommend Sharee, I cannot recommend this hotel.…
I dont think it was what it said in the brochure. I was expecting a restaurant and bar, there isn't one (now apparantly) for the price of the rooms I did expect more. I am a diamond elite member and was offered no upgrades or any benefits. Rooms are small, wardrobe space is minute and the rooms are way outdated. Feels like being in 1970s NYC. It did the job, but I did expect more for a 50th Birthday celebration. Sorry but wouldn't go back.
Good hotel very well situated near Times square so great for exploring New York! Lovely clean rooms with coffee machine, housekeeping come in each day too which is great. No breakfast but there are lots of options near by and a Starbucks practically across the road so pretty perfect for the start of the day!
Great location, it’s not luxury reading reviews before we went was a bit worried about the area as it was myself and my daughter it was find security guard there all times there are homeless people outside but they are everywhere! Room was cleaned daily, had a issue with our tv was sorted in 10 mins! Again read reviews on unfriendly staff they couldn’t of been more helpful for us, will definitely stay here again when come back.
We booked this hotel as diamond elite ihg members. Having looked online and with the information available decided room looked as if it would meet our needs…how wrong we were!! Rooms dirty, no restaurant on site but advertising there is. Charging customers for breakfast they couldn’t provide, rude staff. Avoid!!!
