First off--the location is great!! And, for a midtown Manhattan hotel, the rooms are large. Two people can walk around without tripping over each other or luggage. Complaints about it being "out-dated" fascinate me. It's a classic beauty built in the early 1900s not a chain whose rooms look the same no matter where you are! The beds are great;...

We stayed 5 nights (Easter Week-end) at the Wolcott Hotel. The Hotel is perfectly situated one block away from the Empire State building. Time Square, The Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center are easily reachable by walking about 15 Minutes. Add 15 more minutes and you reach Central Park. Basically all of Manhattan is easily reachable on foot. The Hotel is...

Stayed 4 nights at the Wolcott Hotel after Ramada Eastside gave away our room before we arrived. Thank you Wolcott Hotel for taking us in with no reservation at 2AM! This was my first visit to NYC and I have no experience to use as a comparison. We got a room with 3 twin beds, with a 4th bed added...

The hotel has not the most friendly crew, there are a few grumpy old men standing behind a counter. The location is very central on Manhattan. Next time I would prefer a hotel in a more charming district. You have to pay per our, day or week for WiFi. Come on, this is 2017! Beds are comfortable and rooms are...

Visited this hotel in November 2016 for 5 nights .Grand entrance and very friendly staff. Our room was really dated which wasn't a massive problem as we didnt spend to much time in the hotel anyway. No wifi is a massive down point. If location is your top priority this hotel is great for you.

Central location. Lovely clean rooms. Attentive and very pleasant staff, really friendly. Coffee and muffins are lush. This is the second time I have stayed here and would reccommend the hotel to anyone. Easy to get to all the attractions of New York. Excellent choice for a lovely break.

I stayed here for 3 nights from 17th April and we just had a standard double room which was lovely, cosy and had good beds. Rooms were cleaned every day and were very clean, had fresh towels and toiletries. Also a free safe in your room. Rooms are quite dated and there is a lot of street noise. It's in...

The Wolcott is an historic hotel with a heap of history involving New York mayors, pop stars of the past and great American literary figures. You wouldn't know it because so much of the grandeur from former years is screened off from the public and is mothballed at the back. The duty manager gave us a look behind the scenes...

Yellow taxis can not be ordered by phone in NYC, they can all be hailed on the street. If you ask for a car to be reserved it will be a private car, and yes the concierge hires private cars so they have a deal going on. Private cars cost more than taxis. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

First time staying here would highly recommend it. Especially for location and price. Not to mention the very good standard. If your not looking for 5 start this is the stop. And the added tea coffee and muffins go down a treat as you leave in the mornings for site seeing. First Hotel in new York I've ever been happy...

Classic old style room, very comfortable and easy to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel is in a great location, it's away from the hustle and bustle but yet so close to anywhere u what to go. The staff were great, our favorite was Dwight. A great bloke who was always greeting us and asking about...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
