I stayed in Grand Central for 3 nights and found it to be a good place to stay in NewYork.. As my intention was to roam around places during my stay, I didn't want to go for luxury.. Also since I booked the hotel before my travel to US, I was not sure about booking at any small hotel.. so...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The Hilton New York Grand Central (or Manhattan East as it was known when we booked) is a hotel which I have now visited twice; once in August 2016 and again in February 2017. Both times the hotel has been a great place to stay. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Grand Central and 20 to Times...

Staff was helpful and corrected issues quickly. Location was great with easy access to many sites and transportation. The room was very noisy due to the air conditioning exchange but the hotel made sure we had a pleasant experience by moving us to another room

Very unfriendly and rude front desk staff. Room with two double beds was like a cubby hole with no outside light coming through a tiny window. Window was facing a brick wall less tha 5' away. Paid for stay & park rate but still keep getting separate bill for parking.

Place is great, could see the East River a little, Staff is very helpful, room is small but for New York City, it's big. Lol!! Value exceeded expectations. Definitely will stay there again. Oh yeah, close to everything, we walked everywhere.

While the location was convenient for me, it is not for everyone. This is an old building so you have to put up with a bit. Sometimes the water runs brown and there can be strange noises in the walls (rattling pipes, etc). On the plus side, the old building has charm and I am pleased they did not pull...

Great service, clean rooms, great location. We had a balcony with a wonderful view. I would suggest the hotel supply a fridge and microwave for the convenience of the costumer. Loved the jetted tub and the luxurious bathroom. I would definitely stay there again.

We booked this hotel for the easter week-end. First, the location is excellent! We walked a lot from the hotel to go to central park, times square, empire state building, etc. It is in a safe spot, on a safe street. But you have to know that the hotel is very old and it shows in the rooms. The rooms...

This was a very good choice. It's super clean and the elevators are efficient. The staff is polite but stays out of your way if you don't need them. It's not far from metro stops. It's completely safe to walk around here any time of day. The housekeeping staff worked around our lazy schedule. No good NY hotel is cheap....

Quiet, couldn't hear the street noise. Pretty building. Good size rooms for NYC. Clean. Friendly. Easy access to FDR and to go to LGA. Only a $28.00 cab ride from LGA. Only a few blocks to grand central for subway and metro north.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
