Stayed for four nights recently.First room we were allocated had a dreadful smell...similar to being in a swimming pool !I immediately returned to reception and was allocated a different room.We did not experience any problems with the lifts, as previous reviewers had.The only downside was the staff at reception, very unwelcoming and unfriendly.

After months of reading Trip Advisor to try and find the best, low cost but centralish hotel, we eventually decided on the Holiday Inn 57th Street. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive. I emailed the hotel prior to our visit and asked for a room at the top to appreciate the views. We were not...

Stayed from 10/13/13 to 10/19/13. Service, facilities, and location were great. I e-mailed the hotel a couple of days before we arrived to request a renovated room and they did not disappoint. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful upon check-in. Location was perfect, just a couple of blocks from Central Park and the subway entrance (59th St./Columbus Circle)...

Like many reviewers I found there were pros and cons with this hotel. First the positives. It was quite a good location not far from Times Square/Broadway, Central Park, 5th avenue. Also quite good subway connections. The room was a good size and they were efficient at putting in an extra bed (though they did charge $25/night for the extra...

Stayed at the holiday in in October 2013. Hotel is in a good location, it is 5 minutes away from Columbus Circle and Central Park and around 12 minutes away from Times Square. Usually when i travel, my company puts me in Crown Plaza's.In fact I had just come from the C.P. Nice front desk staff. Clean spacious rooms. Pool small but clean. Impossible to get deck chair on a sunny day but that's ok. I use the pool to swim, not to lay next to. Accommodated cot/bassinet request Location fantastic. Walking distance to absolutely everywhere. Great diners nearby. My family and I would definitely stay here again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
