Our hotel concierge recommended the Carlyle for low key jazz/blues while eating at the bar and restaurant. It was perfect. The food was very good, the service excellent and the music was great. We will be back!

My friend and I stayed at the beautiful Carlyle this first weekend of February. What a hotel. There is history in the walls, and Rosewood have managed to conserve the Carlyle tradition and warmth. Filled with a unique atmosphere and genuine service the hotel really made our stay memorable. Having tried other hotels in NY, there really is something unique...

Wonderful place! Loved the entertainment! Bring your wallet! The piano players were fabulous and the crowd was an international mix of cool and elegant people. They keep the lights dim which makes for a very sexy atmosphere. I'll go again the next time I'm in town.

I hosted a large family group at the Carlyle in a 2 room suite to celebrate a birthday. It could not have been better. The service was wonderful. The concierge helped me order flowers, balloons and a variety of other items which were all in the room when we arrived. In addition the hotel sent a complementary cake and fruit,...

Outstanding legacy hotel but now requires update. I lived in New York for twenty years and the Carlyle was my favorite location for world class Cafe and lobby bar. During my January stay in the 33rd hotel tower room was small and dated --although with a great view North over Central Park. Hotel dining room service was excellent but expensive...

The hotel, the location and the service is outstanding. The understated elegance and the sincerity of the service is unlike anything I've ever experienced. The hotel's Bemelmans Bar is famous, but I recommend enjoying your drinks in the Gallery outside of the bar. Introverts, like myself, can enjoy the music without the crowds. The Carlyle makes you feel like you...

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
