The Blakely is a nice hotel, the rooms are probably above average of what you'd typically find. It is located closely enough to all the attactions that are within walking distance. We even walked to the Empire State Building and back. The staff are very friendly and if we return to NYC, we'd consider the Blakely again.

The Blakely is my favorite hotel in Manhattan ! It's out of the fray of Times Square but within easy walking distance if you're looking for more activity than midtown offers. The rooms are spacious, scrupulously clean and quiet. The staff is professional and knowledgeable but friendly and very accommodating. Book it ! You won't be disappointed.

Convenient, nice size rooms, breakfast included. It's all good (except for the TV reception but who cares). Suites are terrific and a great value. rooms on the lower floors get some noise from the street. The new restaurant is always crazy busy. Didn't try it yet.

Booked the Blakely for a weekend stay-snowing in New York! Hotel was wonderful and staff were very accommodating! Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Showers are terrific! Hotel is within walking distance of 5th Avenue and a short cab ride to Broadway!

So, as I get older I notice things about myself that are a bit weird or at least unconventional. One of those is that I don't like pretentious formality, yeah its nice to stay in a 5Star architectural masterpiece with 2.5 staff per room, but that isn't really my thing. I'd rather not, just having to greet every smiling face...

My wife and I stayed at the Blakely a few days before the eve of the new year 2017 and so this may be a factor in the somewhat high price for the one-night stay (it is NYC though, isn't it!). That aside, we were upgraded to a suite and a split of red wine was delivered to us compliments...

Dear EugeneGary, Thank you so much for your kind review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us. It was our pleasure to upgrade you, we try to do this with our guests whenever possible. The lines to our new restaurant "Black tap" are an everyday occurrence since they opened approximately a month ago. Everybody has heard about...

We stayed at the Blakely for a 3 week break. The hotel is well situated within the city, and just a stones throw from central park. The room was clean and tidy, although a bit small. The down side was that the breakfast was a disappointment and we went the first and second morning of our stay, and very disappointed...

We really enjoyed this location. Great access to the subway (57th street). Easy 20 minute walk to Times Square. The concierge was very helpful.....pointed us to the best food outlets/restaurants and got us tickets to shows. The soup nazi (a la Seinfeld) was nearby. Great choice of restaurants, delis, drugstores, supermarkets. MOMA was a five minute walk. Hotel was a...

First the good- nice staff, decent sized rooms with good showers and comfortable beds, location very convenient but not swamped. What good are these things, however, if you cannot sleep at night? Let me preface with saying the we are regular visitors to NYC, who are familiar with city noise levels. That being said, this trip brought us a nightly...

Dear awcharlotte, Thank you staying with us and providing such a detailed review. I take all guest feedback very seriously. I'm sorry you found the room to be very noisy. Did you address this with the front desk staff? I am sure we would have been able to move you to a higher floor had you done so. If you...

The Blakely is an old queen of NYC accommodation. A bit dark and dated inside but with good bones. The room we had was a good size and the service was excellent. It uses Black Tap for a continental style breakfast venue and it then transforms into a hip burger spot.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
