Loved the whole experience. Fantastic service, amazing staff who went out their way to make it a very special stay. Like the quieter location & we had great spacious room with a view. Thanks & we will recommend at every chance.
The Downtown Marriott is convenient to the financial district, World Trade Center, etc but it has a few issues. First, the elevators are s.l.o.w - expect to wait because you most likely will. Second, the hotel could use an update - the lobby is ok...More

Perfect location in lower Manhattan. We stayed on the 26 floor and the view over the Hudson river was just perfect. The lobby was a bit bland but Maria at the front desk was very helpful and so was the rest of the staff.

At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial District is where New York City began as a center of commerce. Today, the historic streets and beautiful setting are complemented by museums, countless skyscrapers, and the heart of the Financial District, home to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange. Catch the Staten Island Ferry for an unbeatable view of the skyline and Statue of Liberty, or sail to Ellis
Island to learn about the vital immigrant history of the city.

Taxi or Uber. I believe there is a fixed price set by the appropriate Transit Authority for Taxis - you will need to check the internet. I have departed to and from JFK airport. The price is a flat rate plus tolls. I have no idea of the price of public transport to and from La Guardia. I did use public transport from JFK many years ago when I was a student. It was very much the cheaper option but it was , relatively speaking , an even more arduous schlep than my transatlantic flight.
