Nice room, good service, busy elevators that require some advance morning and evening planning to be on time. Prices are a little steep for what you get. Worst problem: directly on Times Square. Use the side streets to avoid the pedestrian traffic.
Good hotel in the middle of Times Square. Location - great for a tourist - not so great for business person trying to be downtown in rush hour. Rooms are nice but it could be a bit updated. Very busyyyyyyy
At the time of my stay (Feb 2016 and prior to that was Nov & Aug 2015) the hotel is doing renovations. The elite member lounge has been moved a few times, the outside of the hotel is having some work done but overall it...More

I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city (why go to NYC if you don't!). This property is in close proximity to several theaters, Times Square and public transportation. Across the street from our hotel was Juniors restaurant famous for their decadently rich cheesecake,...More
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

We had a family group (7) and took a lemo. If you only have yourself and a light carry on, then the MTA is good and fast. there are taxies that charge a flat rate. the trip on to the island is not bad, but when you cross the bridge (except for night) is full stop and maybe go. Traffic down town from 0700 till 2100 does not move.

Confirm with the hotel, but my guess is that you can bring kids, with you to The View at that hour, get a table, and they can have a soft drink, snack or dessert while you gave a drink. The View is a restaurant, not only a bar.i think you can't bring kids to places, where they check IDs at door, like clubs, but i think you should be okay at a restaurant that serves liquor. Maybe they can't sit right at the bar area, but a table should be doable. But check w the establishment, too.
