The Paramount Hotel's location near Times Square is a highlight for travelers, but the bustling area also brings noise that some find disruptive. While the lobby's ambiance receives compliments for its inviting style, guests have called out the rooms for being cramped, outdated, and in need of modern amenities and refurbishment. Opinions on value are mixed, with criticisms focusing on unexpected fees and a lack of in-room conveniences.
Service experiences vary, with instances of both helpful and unresponsive staff encounters. Cleanliness also receives mixed reviews, with some praising it and others suggesting improvements.

Detailed Reviews
Having walked into a dim lit hotel , I was in for a even worse surprise the room was so small it was almost full with two cases on the floor. The cleanliness of the hotel was brilliant and the staff couldn’t do enough for you apart from one lady who was quite hostile towards customers going into the bar area, shall I say we never went in there again,we also found the pricing for drinks was overpriced.
It’s location is ideal as it’s in the middle area of Times Square and within area for the theatres

The hotels location is perfect, short walk to times square and the broadway shows and location is also good for the tourist buses as there is a stop right outside. The rooms are just what you need for a city break, comfy beds, good shower and the netflix part of the facilities is a great touch when you've had a long day sightseeing and just want time in the room to unwind. The good points of a great trip were sadly overshadowed by the experience we had with the concierge. If you're looking to do any trips, see any shows please do your research before you fall foul and are grossly ripped off by their services.

This hotel was chosen due to location in the heart of Times Square although with many hotels to choose from, this one was deemed to be best value via British Airways. On arrival into the main lobby, drhis was as I expected as per photos, dimly lit and gave a good 1st impression. The check-in was simple although not overly welcoming, no upgrade offered as I've seen given for other guest reviews, but hey. We then went to the room, no bell boy just take the lift. The corridors to the room were light and modern but then we opened the door to our Broadway Classic dbl room and it was tiny! We thought OK, let's go with it, it's only a base and it was all clean, maybe needed a bit of decorating but perfectly acceptable. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels etc. We found the room could get very warm as the bathroom radiator was steaming hot, but all you need to do is close the bathroom door and put on the aircon or open the window to sort that out. We used the bar and cafe 2-3 times after a long day and sevice was friendly and fast. The food is basic but you will eat out in many new york places anyway. Why it shuts at 9pm sun to thurs is odd and we were hurried out on one occasion at 830. Overall its worth a visit but don't go for the basic room as its just too small.

We stayed in this hotel for the last 5 days it was Amazing .Before arriving I e.mailed the guest experience Manager Lucy Tian for help and advice she was very helpful indeed she found out through our travel agent that it was both our 50th birthday and upgraded our room what a lovely gesture. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a king Deluxe it was very light and airy with a very large bed it was very comfortable and the room was warm. The location was excellent just off Time Square it was not noisy being surrounded by theatre we were very pleasently surprised how quiet the hotel was. Also on leaving the hotel they have there own cabs waiting outside a very luxurious car flat rate of $72 no waiting around in the cold. Highly Recommended and will stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is a bit like Jekyll and Hyde, great location, great old fashion facade.
Now I'm all for having a nice ambience but the lobby and lifts in particular need a
slighter brighter bulb. Staff at checking where helpful. Room was clean and nice but
the bathroom needs a bit of work to update/repair it.
Find it strange that no restaurant / diner within the hotel. The little cafe had limited choice and was not that enticing, Also it shuts at 21:00, so you can't have a night cap having been out all day!
You get charged a service charge which included your WiFi and water plus a few other things, surely the water should be included within your room rate. That said hot water does not reach the higher floors, ran water for 30 minutes on first morning and still only luke warm. Also plug did not fit correctly so you had to keep tap on
to wash anyway. So on checking out found that the service charged did not cover the baggage storage, one does feel ripped off.
DO NOT get the hotel to organize a cab for you, the porter said $90 to JFK, we had to pay him a $11 deposit and the fare would be $79 payable to the driver. NO the driver on arrival at JFK insisted upon the full $90 fare. COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!!
I can recommend hotel for location but not much else, I will not be returning!!!!

This was our second visit to this loverly eloquent chic hotel. On arrival we were met with a smile and pleasantly greeted by the door staff. The check in was both very quick and undertaken by a very pleasant gentleman at the reception desk. This was really pleasing after a long tiring journey. We were allocated a room on the 15 floor (no 1505). From the very first instance we felt entirely safe and secure and were really impressed at the cleanliness of the lobby lifts and corridors within the Paramount. On entering our room we found it to be quite spacious with a king size bed a lot of luggage space TV telephone and in room safe. The bathroom was again very adequate for our 4 night stay. The hygiene standards are very high at this hotel and we found the bed and bed linen to be exceptionally comfortable and very clean.
The hotel is superbly located for using all forms of transport in New York and Broadway shows. More importantly you can easily walk to a lot of New York attractions. Central Park between 20 to 30 min walk, Empire State again betwee 20 to 30 mins walk. Maceys, Grand Central Station 5th Ave for shopping and many others are within easy walking distance.
As it very close to Hells Kitchen you will certainly not be short of places to eat.
Can't wait to revisit this beautiful charming safe secure and more importantly very clean hotel.

From start of our hol which we have saved for 5 year for we was so excited we was staying in new York in this newly refurbished hotel ect ,we enter and staff was very nice and helpful hotel was very modern so all good so far , then we enter the room ! Which by the way we was told was queen superior? When we open door my mouth dropped it’s the smallest room ever iv stayed in hotels all around world before I was married and this is by far the smallest ... the bed was definitely not a queen more like normal size bed The room is so small and basic nothing like you see advertised really, also our room was dirty on arrival but being mum I carry baby wipes and wiped around room but after this the room was clean everyday , but put dampner on the first day but never mind we carried on , then the next day when we wanted to take shower (we was up quite early) no hot water I let tap run for quite some time and just lil warm but as we was up early I’m assuming the reason it wasn’t hot was not due to everyone showering at same time but even if that is reason still not good enough again no problem we go out ,then next day I tried running two in sink again no hot water but now my water in sink is disappearing? Filled again happen again so to have a wash I have to have tap running , then we relise the fees that have been taken , we had no idea these fees was being taken which is not hotels fault more our travel agent but when we asked for what the fee was for they said facility? Now I’m
Not going gym I never used there phone and the WiFi is so poor really shouldn’t be taking 35 dollars a day fir the plus tax...if I’m honest this ruined holiday as we only had x amount to spend so then we spent most day upset and looking for somewhere to actually change money as everywhere was bad rate there, then there’s the paper thin walls the room next to us I’m assuming had there toilet near our door because if they flushed it would eco through our room so as well as bed being bumpy and uneven i was being woke up by late night trips to the bathroom , in all iv had bad experience it did ruin my hol we tried not to let it but after so many lil things u can not help but be disappointed...
Overall the the staff and location is great right near Times Square and broadway but the hotel it’s self let the holiday down definitely would not recommend to any one

Me and my partner stayed here on the 22nd December till 29th December 2019.
This was a gift for my girlfriends 21st Birthday present and let’s just say, it was a birthday to forget.
When I went to get a shower in the bathroom in our hotel room, human poo (waste) Poured out of the bath taps and up the plug hole and the shower head filling the bath tub with a lot of sewage which was absolutely disgusting. The smell is still in our lungs and believe we could or could of been really sick no one would wish this on their worst enemy, it was a nightmare. The bathroom was a horrific sight the smell the waste was leaking everywhere we had to quickly inform the cleaner who happened to be in the corridor outside, and she couldn’t even attend the bathroom, she quickly rushed to the room telephone and immediately called and emergency engineer.
We was then shifted to the main entrance/ reception to be given another room, which we waited over 4 hours for. This was really disappointing because were sitting in the middle of New York with no hotel room for 4/5 hours, Unable to wash/shower and had the incident still on our minds. This was very disappointing because we couldn’t go out on a trip or plan anything because it ruined a whole day for us. We felt so sick and wanted to come home ASAP.
When we went to reception we was offered a continental breakfast as an apology which was a croissant or donut and some fruit which we couldn’t even eat because we felt very sick. This put us off eating the rest of the holiday and couldn’t look at food as it was still in our minds.
We are very disappointed this happened. This SHOULD NOT happen anywhere at all, especially when you pay a lot of money to stay in a hotel in New York you never expect this, very unhygienic. We hope we are well and haven’t caught anything from this horrific experience.

This was our 6th visit to NYC and our first stay at the Paramount hotel.
The hotel is literally a 1 min walk from the ‘steps’ at Times Square and is in the middle of the theatre district.
The room we had was on the 15th floor, small but ideal for our stay, spotlessly clean with maid service and fresh towels daily.
The room had an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and safe and 43” flat screen tv with HD channels but no fridge , i later saw that this can be rented for a nominal fee if required
5 mins walk from the Port Authority bus station and about 10 mins to Macy's and the Empire State Building.
Central Park was 10 mins in opposite direction.
The staff were eager to please, courteous and knowledgeable.and i won’t hesitate in staying here on our next visit.
All in all a positive experience, thanks to all.

We stayed in the paramount for 4 nights from the 13th Jan. On arrival the hotel is lovely and when you walk into the reception/lobby area it certainly has the wow factor. The gentleman who greets you on the door is also really friendly and pleasant too. The amenities of the hotel are very basic. No tea/coffee facilities, no fridge or even space to really store your cases. The rooms could do with updating some what and are very small, which can become frustrating when getting ready, but for 4 nights we couldnt really complain. I could imagine a longer stay though would be a bit more annoying. The bathroom appeared clean but certainly need modernising and a refresh as they looked tired and more like mcdonalds toilets from the 90s. The bed though, OH MY DAYS!! The best most comfyest bed I have ever experienced in a hotel anywhere in the world!! My biggest fear when i go on holiday is having a firm or hard mattress as it ruins my sleep and makes for a very tiring holiday both physically and mentally, but the bed did not disappoint. The pillows were naff and went flat in minutes, but after long days walk around new york the mattress was just what the dr ordered and I could cope with the pillows.
The hotel is just a stones throw from.the centre of time.square in easy access to subway and the bus tour routes and brisk walk to rockafella centre, 5th Avenue and Madison Square gardens. Couldnt argue the location.
For what I needed, I would stay again

Mine did. But I can't speak to every room. I'm sure they'd bring one if you asked for one.
I think you can but i am not really sure about there law there if you have to be 21.
Not happened to me and never will as I wouldn’t even set foot in this place to get out of a monsoon!
Awful hotel
I stayed at the Paramount in April 2023 for one night and I did not pay a resort fee.
