Booked this hotel on TripAdvisor although I never heard of it. I was truly surprised. Location incredible- right off Times Square. Staff was very catering; pamper you. As for the room (standard queen) - very small BUT the design made it not appear that way. Extremely comfortable. Actually, the chandelier was opulent. View was lacking, but I don't go to...

I loved this hotel, it was so contemporary and cool! The room was lovely, we paid a bit extra to enjoy a Deluxe King Room as previously read some of the rooms were pretty small. It was comfy and had everything you made need. It was very close to all the main attractions. Staff were very nice, yet only disappointment...

We chose the Sanctuary Hotel due to its location, its reviews, and because we were looking for something different from the usual hotel chain experience. Moments after we spotted it on our walk from the subway, the porter was already offering to assist us with our luggage. The front desk staff were particularly quick and helpful, and we appreciated them...

The Sanctuary Hotel reminds me of a cruise ship: many staff people eager to make your stay the most pleasant possible, exotic decor in the lobby and hallway, upscale public spaces with interesting music and a nice vibe. Our room continued the feeling: high quality bathroom and the room itself was nicely decorated but small and dark. Perfect to sleep...

First, the good stuff. This hotel is very avant garde with a cool lobby, trendy but tasteful decor, and a fun rooftop bar. In addition, it's right in the middle of everything in midtown. The concierge was incredibly helpful. I would stay here again except for one thing.... The bad stuff. Even by NYC standards, the room was tiny. I...

Loved this little hotel. Loved the entrance and the way in which we were greeted. Decor is lovely. Staff very good, informative and helpful. Rooms were very good - high standard of decor and fittings. Breakfast was very good and again the staff were excellent. Delighted we were staying here - gave us a perfect sanctuary from the busy city...

Found a great last minute deal on hotels tonight and it was a great find! Very small room, as expected in the city, but clean and well laid out with a nice big shower. The hotel staff was always very friendly and helpful. Great location within walking distance to a handful of tourist attractions and subway stations.

From the front steps to the somewhat exotic interior, Sanctuary as a different hotel experience. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean and well-appointed. You did need to put your keycard in the light switch in order for the room lights to work and I did have trouble finding the lights to the bathroom...

From the moment you walk in, you receive first class service. The location is fantastic, the food is very good and the rooftop bar is definitely the place to enjoy the finest of NYC has to offer. I will definitely return.

I took my wife here on a Saturday night as a surprise for her birthday. Since we already had dinner reservations and tickets for a broadway show, I thought it would be a nice touch to spend the night in the city. I found the hotel through the Groupon app, so needless to say, the price was very reasonable for...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
