This hotel is very nice, small, courteous staff, fantastic location to Times Square, newly renovated rooms, average or above average room sizes for NY, however the noise was terrible. That is the only downfall. The rooms are not very soundproof from the other guest rooms & the noise during the night was so bad it was almost as if we...

If you want to stay near Times Square but not right in the middle of the flashing lights, this is a GREAT hotel. It's location is perfect but it's also tucked away just enough to avoid a lot of the commotion. The hotel itself is very nice, modern and the staff is great. If you're looking for a suite, the...

It was pleasant, but I was with a group, otherwise couldn't have afforded it.... I love Dorothy Parker and the history including the Algonquin Round Table, the New Yorker, etc. But the Marriott ownership has both modernized the rooms and removed a lot of the history. I was directed to check out the second floor for memorabilia, but there were...

My daughter tok me to the city for a great 3 day weekend and our stay at the Algonquin was all one could expect at such a classic and classy hotel. Room was spacious, bathroom small,& efficient and lighted magnifying mirror SUPER! Staff was friendly and food and drinks in the 'Blue Bar' tasty. Look forward to another visit.

This hotel is quaint and new--just went through a major renovation. The rooms are large by NYC standards, and comfortable. Very clean and modernized. Loved the staff and the friendly nature of the hotel--it's large hotel amenities with the boutique feel of a small ny hotel. I'd definitely return especially for the amazing breakfast--pricey but doable if you have it...

I must start this review by saying that my expectations for this hotel were high since I had a better impression of the Autograph Collection. I was wrong and here is why: 1. Lobby looks, feels and smells old 2. Staff must be some of the senior union members, because their attitude and behavior shows they don't care about the...

Thank you for your candid feedback regarding your recent visit to The Algonquin and thank you for your business. The Algonquin was closed and renovated in the first part of 2012. The Lobby wood paneling and ceiling detail work is original dating to 1902 when the building opened as a hotel. The hotel has had many favorable remarks regarding design...

This hotel was well appointed, had everything we needed. Room wasn't huge but it's NYC! Great hospitality, clean, close to great shopping, dining, shows. Even on a rainy day they offered me an umbrella to use for the day! Has the charm of old New York and you can just imagine award winning novelists having coffee in the lobby.

When breakfast takes 45 minutes to deliver and is the same price as "the Peninsula" uptown in a nicer atmosphere ,that gets delivered in 10 minutes- why would you have breakfast here? The doorman and the head of housekeeping where great! There is no lounge bar scene and we had to ask for extra towels . Probably not on my...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
