Just stayed for a few days. This old-fashioned hotel is unpretentious and good value in an expensive city. The location is its biggest positive point - most of midtown Manhattan is walkable. The rooms are quite small, but fine if you need somewhere simple to...More

Several people have described me as being someone who is virtually impossible to please. That I set the proverbial bar too high. Possess unrealistic expectations.
Spot-on, accurate perceptions – indeed.

Loved the espresso machine! The staff is friendly. The hotel is in a terrific location. We plan to come back again next year. It is an older hotel but we loved it. It is close to Grand Central Station.
We drove into New York without a hotel reservation and just happened to call The Mansfield looking for a room for few days. Albert answered our call and from the very start exceeded our expectations, his level of customer service was beyond professional. Via phone...More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Wow! That's terrible news. My suggestion would be to just simply phone Joanna (the current manager of the Mansfield) from Monday-Friday and talk to her about this. There are fraudulent charges on many of our credit accounts that are not tied back to any one hotel or restaurant but rather are scammers getting a hold of our credit card numbers online when we book at a place/due to our own computer settings, and my guess is that this is nothing new but should be handled with your card services. The Mansfield would not chance ruining its reputation by having a security leak in their credit systems or IT management. But for sure speak to the manager (who has always helped us with any issues immediately) and get this resolved. I'm sorry you are going through all this pain and trouble. What a huge hassle for you.
leave message and she will call you back if not in.
I do agree that her email should be added to their website.
