This is my 5th stay at this hotel and usually the stay is decent. I'm fairly simple and only need a clean room working plumbing. However, there were several issues that should be addressed. Honestly the proximity to my work is the only thing that keeps me coming back. My first room had a ripe smell and when I asked... More

We stayed at the Westin Grand Central for a girl's weekend, in room 3920. Out of our group, we decided this room had the best view (due south, view from the East River to the Empire State Building). The room is also on the end of the floor, so it's relatively quiet. Prior to arrival, I had several conversations with... More

Given the outrageous lines at check-in and significant number of people waiting in the lobby, combined with the fact that our daily housekeeping was a serious problem during the entire 3-day stay leads me to believe that the property can't turn their rooms in a timely manner. Restaurant food and service was lackluster by any city standards - and even... More

Well located hotel, close to the Grand Central, next to the News Building, and near UN areas. Rooms are standard Westin and decently sized. However, had a rather bad experience with service at the the front desk - least concerned and rather snooty. Sadly, the least service oriented Westin I have been to (particularly for the rate one pays). Would... More

The hotel was nice and convenient. Centrally located. Not too crowded. Nice fitness center. Room well appointed. The bar/restaurant in the lobby lacked basic service skills....like welcoming customers, getting drink order within a few minutes, and following up for additional needs. The staff was hardly friendly and acted like providing service was a nuisance. All the negative reviews are very... More

This is my home in NYC when I travel for business. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet. I love the gym which is large and the restaurant in the lobby have the best servers and the food is good too. Easy access to midtown by subway, cab, or walking.

This hotel is a good choice if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of New York City. The check in was great with very professional and pleasant staff. The only issue I had with this hotel is it is abit of a walk from Grand Central and the tourist sites. The good part about it is you can... More

I'm a Starwood Platinum and travel to NYC frequently for work. This trip I was travelling for pleasure with my 12 yr old daughter. I called ahead to mention our "girls' trip". The gentlemen at the end looked annoyed and said, "I'm right here", meaning, come over to my desk, why did you pick that line? The young man who... More

I had a very spacious room at the Westin--something you don't always find in Manhattan. My room overlooked 42nd Street and was surprisingly quiet. The hotel was very clean, the shower was terrific, and the staff was friendly and helpful. A great hotel.

If you are looking for a very good business hotel close to Grand Central and Midtown, the Westin Grand Central fits the bill. As with virtually all Westins, the rooms are very clean and conveniently designed for the business traveller. The restaurant and bar selection in this area of town is not great, but that's the downside of staying in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
