The Waldorf is a fabulous building with stunningly elegant public areas, great examples of its luxurious 1930's heritage. The refurbished "luxury rooms" are majestic, large, have wonderfully comfortable beds and original large baths in extensive bathrooms. Service is good but prices eyewatering - $120 each for the sunday brunch!, although it is an outrageously exotic feast. If you want a...

Starting at check in, Nataly at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable! She was so nice and helpful! Thank you! The room had a great view and the bed was comfortable. Then, having drinks and dinner at Bull&Bear was just delightful. Service and food were top notch! I am so glad I got to...

I can't say anything more than what "trestres55" reported. Our experience at the WA was everything we imagined. Lovely room, excellent customer service in every way, gorgeous lobby, delicious dining. If it's on your bucket list, now is the time to visit before the doors are closed to the public on March 1, 2017. After the renovation the WA will...

We arrived at the Wardorf Astoria to find it very resplendent. The staff all pleasant and courteous. Our room , you could tell, was once very splendid, but was looking very tired. It was very dusty, and had a feel of better days. Having said that, the beds were very comfortable and the location was perfect for walking to Times...

If you have the chance to stop and have a drink, go to the old Sir Harry's Bar (now the Champagne Bar). Sonny K. the Bartender does a great job. He is very attentive, and mixes a good drink. Ignore the decor, it's awful, especially the white chairs that should be in a ice cream parlor.

Stopped at the hotel for our 5 day city break. I have to say the service is great and looks impressive however we went across the street to Starbucks for coffee as the prices were so high in the hotel.

There are 3 parts to this hotel, best part and most expensive Waldorf Towers, then Park Avenue Waldorf Astoria, then Lexington Waldorf Astoria, which houses the most economical rooms. I stayed in the Park Avenue part of the hotel. Before booking I read that early next year the whole hotel will close for a 3 year conversion/refurbishment, hence the last...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
