Be prepared to spend-- $19 per glass for house wine!! and $98 per person for Sunday brunch. Hotel does have a fantastic lobby and the rooms are comfortable. Look for deals on the room rates using AAA, etc

Dear Raym318, Your review is a tough one to read, as we take great pride in our iconic hotel and in providing an experience that not only exceeds your expectations, but truly "wows" you. While I am happy that you enjoyed your room accommodation and our soaring lobbies, I do regret that we were unable to provide you with an...

I always wanted to stay in this hotel, it looked so beautiful in movies. And it is: it has a breathtaking entrance, a magnificent lobby, great restaurants (Bull and Bear was perfect, Peacock Alley seemed nice too), shops with appealing windows, many reception desks (for all of which you had to wait in line, at least during the Christmas holidays)....

I think the Waldorf Astoria is in a difficult position. They want to keep their old classic charm of bygone days, but some guests want the latest modern look and conveniences. You can see the pride the hotel takes in its heritage. The lobby area is filled with memorabilia and old photos. The halls on all the floors also have...

We appreciate your kind words about our hotel, and we are perhaps most thankful for your kind words regarding our superior room appointments and our True Waldorf Service. We stayed here for a quick weekend trip to the city and I wanted to test my memories of having stayed here more than 50 years ago. The lobby is breathtaking, and with the free wifi, you can camp out and peoplewatch for hours. The room (a deluxe, by the way) was woefully deficient of working electrical outlets; we had...

Dear Tenighir, Thank you for returning to the Waldorf Astoria for a repeat visit after so many years! While some things have changed, as we make improvements to our property every day, some have not- such as our commitment to warm, personalized hospitality. This past 12/29 - 1/2 was my first stay at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. My first impression was very positive: our (LaGuardia) cab entered on 49th St. (vs. Park Ave.), in an alley-way of sorts which serves as a vehicular entrance for both the hotel and the Waldorf Towers. The bellboy (although not definitely a "boy" in either...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
