My partner and I have just returned from a 5 day trip to NYC. We booked with TravelScope which were absolutely superb. We were originally set to be staying in the SkyLine Hotel up on 47th but due to refurbishment were placed in the Travel Inn Hotel on 42nd instead. The hotel was clean and quiet and the staff were...

Hmmm!... It was quite expensive in line with all other New York hotels. The room was very, very noisy, with the lifts wirring away next door and the open "motel" style corridors outside. This of course lets in all the noise from traffic/outside too!. The toilet was blocked and the telephone didnt work when we first checked in, to which...

I took my girlfriend on a surprise trip to New York for her birthday, from the UK. I was quite worried about booking hotels on a budget - with only descriptions on Expedia to go on. Luckily however I found TripAdvisor.com and based on the reviews here I picked this hotel. What an excellent choice! As we walked into the...

Stayed at this hotel for three nights in November. As you will find out, hotels are expensive in New York. I chose the travel inn as a alternative to the high priced branded hotels and found it a nice place to stay. I will say though, that if your looking for a plush hotel with lots of facilities then this...

My wife and I stayed overnight from 1-14 to 1-15. The room was very clean and a pretty good size. It was a close walk to Times Square. Take the double decker loop bus, 49.00 for a 48 hour on and off pass. You can go all over Manhattan and Brooklyn for short money. One regret not enough time to...

The Travel Inn is a perfect base for seeing Manhattan. My husband and I stayed here on the final night of our honeymoon in July 2006. We love New York and wanted somewhere central. We also wanted somewhere that was easy to get to from the Newark airport bus stops - knowing we would have heavy bags from our two...

We stayed here Jan 4-7, 2007. There were four of us--2 adults and two children. We wanted something near Times Square that was reasonably priced and would sleep all four of us in the same room. Travel Inn fit that bill. The room was a normal hotel size which fit two double beds, a desk, nightstand, tv/dresser, floor lamp, and...

We planned a last minute trip with our family of four (sons 22, 19) and my sister's family after New Year's. A tip from a friend about the reasonable rates, clean rooms, good location and FREE parking led us to this hotel traveling from Virginia. It was all those things. My husband is very fastidious about clean rooms and had...

Arrived at hotel around 7pm, the receptionist managed to check us in without taking the phone away from his ear. He was literally having two conversations!! We had booked a double-double room even though there was only my girlfriend and I. This is highly recommended as the room is huge with plenty of space. Our room was at the front...

I took my wife and two kids (14 and 11) to NYC to see a couple shows and experience Manhattan for the first time. Since we were staying five nights, a $500-$600 per night room at a typical chain hotel was out of the question. This place was great. Clean room with plenty of space for four people (that's tough...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
