Its always great to find a place you leave knowing you'll be back to. Clean, super friendly service, and far enough away from mid-town to avoid the mayhem related to POTUS protests. Also a compelling value. I have a different slant on some comments about it being 'tired'. If you've ever played bsseball or softball you can appreciate a mit...

We visit the Upper East Side every few months to see family, and the Hotel Wales is always the place we stay. It is a nice location, next door to Sarabeth's great brunch, and the Hotel Wales does everything they can to make our stay a comfortable one. There is coffee and tea on the Mezzanine level at all times,...

Traveled to NYC to visit with my son. We had a lovely suite on floor 3. Very spacious and clean with very comfortable beds and sitting area. Bathroom was nicely done. I loved all the impressive historic woodwork and large windows…it made for a very warm inviting room. We walked everywhere - of course it didn't hurt that the weather...

The evening engineer was especially responsive. There is a...

We stayed at Hotel Wales because it was walking distance to a hospital I needed to visit. The staff are very nice and gracious, however, it is a very old building. No thermostats. Use the heaters and windows to adjust the temperature. Location is great and I would stay there again.

If you go expecting a Four Seasons, you'll be disappointed. The rooms are shabby, yes you will hear the city from Madison Avenue rooms, and yes, the radiator might make some noises (as other reviewers pointed out). But the location on the Upper East Side, a block from Central Park's reservoir, the friendly service and the price all make this...

We stayed in a suite for one night while visiting the museums and spent more time enjoying our room than we expected. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and the staff made us feel so welcome. We were a short walk from the Guggenheim, the Met, and Central Park as well as several restaurants and shops.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
