Stayed here for three nights, they have a great little cocktail bar and the room was a good size. Lovely toiletries, and of course central to everything. Belongs to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, but surprisingly was a very reasonable price. Highly recommend

I had a lovely stay here for work, for a week in September. The high point was watching an eclipse of the moon on the street outside one evening. Pretty amazing. The room was perfectly clean and adequate - a good size, nice bathroom and lots going for it. I really appreciated the free tea and coffee in the lobby,...

Situated perfectly, room and staff are fantastic. Only trouble was they don't have a bar, but not so much of a problem as there's a great choice of bars, restaurants all nearby and walking distance. CR

The staff is excellent, warm and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful. The lobby is going to be renovated soon, and a restaurant added. It should be great. Pastries in the morning, and coffee, tea, and ice water available all day. And, once again, the staff is great!

This is a great NYC Hotel.. We were greeted at the front desk by warm friendly people, and throughout our stay we always received the assistance we needed . Our room was immaculate and the staff kept it that way while we were out. Great attention to detail. The Evelyn is in walking distance to many fun NYC venues and...

We found the Evelyn through a blogpost and were not disappointed! The room was bigger than I expected for NYC. And the location is absolutely brilliant. Around the corner you find the Flatiron and it's a few blocks to the Empire State Building. We didn't mind the renovations really. The hotel offered some free drinks and snacks, which was nice....

I stayed here for 4 nights in October, in a room with 2 double beds As with many New York hotels, the rooms are not huge, but for a short stay, 2 ladies with lots of shopping, it was big enough The location of the hotel is great, just off 5th and about 5 minutes walk to the Empire State...

I booked this hotel at the last minute and was very impressed. The rates are good, the location is central and there are many great restaurants nearby. Though our room was small, the bedding and towels and other amenities were what you'd expect at a more expensive property. Coffee and pastries are available in the morning, complementary. It's a nice...

Nice hotel, great location. Lobby under renovation. Basic amenities, room clean but small(NYC!) not exactly as described in booking. But comfortable and clean. Would stay again would just confirm room prior to arrival. Interested to see again once renovations are complete.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Evelyn formerly The Gershwin Hotel is now offering newly residential inspired rooms with references to an Art Nouveau Style. Our NoMad hotel is inspired by the musical and art heritage of the neighborhood, which was the epicenter of the popular music industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The music theme is reflected throughout the rooms, corridors and bathrooms. The NoMad District (now also known as "NoMad" - North of Madison Square Park) is now one of Manhattan's most popular neighborhoods, characterized by its beautiful and historic architecture, exceptional bars and restaurants tucked away on quiet side streets, and many other attractions. Centered around Madison Square Park, the NoMad District is within walking distance of Midtown, Union Square, Greenwich Village, and NYU. ... more   less
