Although three generations of our family have stayed at Pierpont Inn, we will not be returning. The class and hospitality are long gone. Employees are rude and rarely answer the phones. Massive tree work blocking the office to check into property. They didn’t stop while we passed and hit us with tree particles. The best part is they charged our credit card $20.00 for a washcloth with makeup from simple face washing. Management needs to get back to being a professional run business that caters to making their guests feel safe and comfortable while there

I have stayed at the Pierpont for years, my husband and I do a Santa Barbara/Paso Robles trip almost yearly and the Pierpont is our first stop. It has been two years since we have visited and something have changed! Number on we had never stayed in the Vickers rooms and since our daughters were with us we thought we would give it a try, since last time we were upgraded to a cottage and it was fabulous. We arrived around 10pm, the room smelled of sewage and the air conditioning was so loud it was very difficult to sleep and I felt like I was in a cheesy motel. After a complaint to the front desk, who also needs to learn customer service, “Upper Management” offered to give me a discount, todays over two weeks out I haven’t received my refund on my card, after numerous calls to Liz who is the front desk manager…Pierpont your “Upper Mangement” SUCKS!!! If I or my family ever stays at the Pierpont again, which at this point we won’t your rooms, renovation (which is almost five years out) and customer service better change!!! Your lucky I gave you two stars only because of my previous experiences!!!

We paid for a nice room, but deadbolt didn't work, stains on the carpet, heater wouldn't shut off (it was hot), noisy A/C, and bathroom windows wouldn't open. Worst of all, it's infested with rats. I saw one recently dead rat on the sidewalk, one dead one in the bushes, and I counted 23 rat bait boxes around the main building. I refused to let my family eat the free breakfast. Clearly there had been rats all around the restaurant area and kitchen and storage, and that's why they had so many bait boxes. They refused to give me a refund. Horrible mess of what was once a very nice place decades ago.

WOULDN'T EVEN SHOW US A ROOM WITHOUT FIRST BOOKING - WE LEFT & STAYED AT THE CLOCKTOWER INN After reading numerous negative reviews, I canceled our advance reservation of a "Pierpont Suite King" and decided to show up in person on our desired date to first survey the property BEFORE committing to stay. As described in other reviews, the property was under renovation and the makeshift "Front Desk / Reception area" was in a small hotel room down a dark hallway. We approached the two women at the front desk and inquired about seeing a room in advance of booking the reservation. WE EVEN MENTIONED ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!! One of the ladies refused to show us a room, making bogus excuses, telling us to look at the photos on the webpage. We were somewhat taken aback at how indifferent they were. They didn't care whether we stayed or took our business elsewhere. WE TOOK OUR BUSINESS TO THE CLOCKTOWER INN, where we were greeted with courtesy and an unsolicited offer to see a room before booking. We had a lovely stay in a "Signature Fireplace King With Balcony." RUN DON'T WALK FROM THE PIERPONT INN!!! This place should not even be in business. **NOTE, TOO, THAT THIS INN IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE FREEWAY AND IS VERY NOISY**

Anybody that reads my hundred plus review will notice I'm very fair and seldom complain But in this case travelers must be warned . The attendants at this once lovely hotel admit they rarely if ever pick up the phone to take reservation then when the call defaults to third party site they have no intention of honoring any arrangement .We were promised and charged in advance for king suite yet when we arrived were told we had ordered a standard room with two queen beds .Being a reasonable person I pointed out that we had been charged for suite and were taking a lesser room we expected a lower rate , at this point the attendant for no reason said I called her bitch and she was calling the cops . WTH I said then she stated " well you were about to call me a bitch so take the room or leave it and fight the discount out with the third party site .I asked to see the room and she said nope ! in her words I could wait for the manager but most likely they would rent the room before she got in .I asked if I could tenths room on a nightly basis she said nope I could fight that out with Expedia .i asked if I could get a quote for the room to show to Expedia again the answer was nope . When finally did see the manager she was as aggressive as the attendant .Rather than hello she greeted me with " oh your the guy trying to cause trouble " She did finally admit I was over paying by 250 dollars a night for the room but would give me no paper work to prove it . Potential customers should also be warned this is a three story hotel with no elevators the main restaurant which is temporarily closed has been fenced off eye sore for over 2 years and the free breakfast is served on the farthest end of the property and in my opinion not worth the walk .I won't say the property is in poor condition as the gardens and rooms are not horrible . The attitude of the staff is appalling and I see?from other reviews my experience isn't uncommon so beware if you don't get a reservation directly from the hotel run from this place they seem to take special pleasure in ripping travelers off .

Rooms had a bad odor not just ours. Shower had hair, check in was strange with kids doing the check in. Brought a very small dog which site says ok but then they charged $100 upon arrival. Coffee sucked , breakfast was terrible, grounds had nice landscaping however saw the same trash on ground and lobby ways entire trip. Very very very noisy from fwy and other rooms which we found out housed staff. Won’t be staying here again.

We were in town for work and just needed a place to sleep. BIG MISTAKE! This place is soooo noisy, it is right against the 101 freeway and it is so old that it sounds like you are sitting on the side of the road in your room! The only quiet is between 2 - 4 AM. Then there's the room - last update - what 80s maybe??? It is all old and nasty - I have never seen a 3 star hotel that didn't even have a bathroom counter, just a sink hanging from the wall, gross dirty tile shower and lots of spiders to share it with! We were there 3 nights, very minimal sleep even though we brought in a fan to try and drown the noise. Last night the smoke detector started beeping at midnight - called the front desk via cell (room phone didn't work) after a call back - we were twice told 'you can just leave and I'll give you your money back' also informed that although the first call, Liz said she would call security or maintenance to deal with the smoke detector, the return call informed us that there was NO SECURITY and NO MAINTENANCE! Also that she had no batteries. Why does a hotel only have a battery powered smoke detector when wired ones are required? And no security? Not reassuring for the moving truck we had parked in their lot, nor for our own safety, no working smoke detector and a gas fireplace in the room? I wouldn't touch this place ever again. - Also I have reached out to management twice during our visit and by phone and email since - no response what so ever. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

they told me I only had to pay this then they charge me much much more now I lost so much money and I’m in debt. Do not go to the hotel because they will scam you so hard and mess with your debt I’d rather have stayed under the bridge with the hobos.

We checked into the motel, the lobby looks like someone removed the ice machine and inserted a desk. Under the desk were two incompetent people who know nothing of customer service. They offered a room at the noisiest location which was outdated. When we requested to change the room they decided to charge us days after out trip, not when we checked out of the motel. It was very a very shady operation. Maintenance is woefully below standard.

Our room was very dated! We had a reservation made approx. 8 months in advance. Others that booked after us had nicely remodeled rooms. For 797.00 for 3 nights (the discounted rate for the wedding) I would have expected to be in the "block" of rooms that were reserved. Not spread out all over the property.
