Everything was good about this room and our stay except the sink and bathtub did not drain properly. The free continental breakfast was a nice added bonus. Front office staff were very courteous and very helpful. All in all it was an enjoyable repeat stay. We have made several visits to this motel over the years and have not been...

Room was neat and clean with recent updates (I stay at this motel at least once a year). Staff was courteous, accommodating and very nice. The room was first floor and quiet, and a few minutes walk via pedestrian overpass to the beach and Pier. It's a good value for the money. I'll continue staying here on my trips home.

This is our 2nd stay at Vagabond Inn in Ventura and continue to find it a clean, quiet place to stay with a very short walk to the ocean. We had a great stay the first time and hoped it would be a repeat performance and it was. Our only recommendation is for a more developed breakfast but for the...

We recently spent 5 nights at Vagabond - our first stay at this hotel. Our room (2 queens) was simple and met our needs for a family of three. The heated pool was great. We also enjoyed the breakfast fare - coffee, tea, fruit, and assorted muffins, scones, and English muffins (all packaged from a local bakery) along with assorted...

We booked this room 2 hours before arriving I was so sick of staying at motel 6 and getting no loyalty discount. We ended up in a two room suite for 20 dollars more than Motel 6. The area was good room clean excellent friendly staff well worth the extra 20... and a loyalty program as well as breakfast mini...

I wasn't expecting much from this motel, and it didn't even meet my low expectations. The carpet was so stained and dirty I wouldn't walk on it barefooted. And that doesn't mention the holes in the carpet. It took three tries to get a room key that worked more than one time. I couldn't get the air conditioner to work...

Paula, I'm sorry your stay was not as expected. I had maintenance check the AC and the vending machines. We found the AC to be working fine. It's possible it was not turned on at the thermostat on the wall. All the vending machines are working. The bathroom windows face the outside of the property, so it is possible that...

We've stayed here three times. Liked it the past two times, but this year was a totally different experience. The room wasn't cleaned when we returned after six pm on our first day. Called the office and they said "oh the cleaning lady is up there, go talk to her" We did and went to dinner. Came back to a...

I apologize to you for having to wait for your room. We must have had a breakdown of communiction on our part. I will definately look into it. I will have the maintenance man check the wallpaper and ceiling. Thank you for letting me know about it. Best regards.

Before staying here, just know your priorities. Are your priorities...location? cheap? breakfast? quiet? If cheap and easy freeway access, then this should be 5 stars. If clean, quiet, and continental breakfast options are it, then the rating is 1 star like I did. We were on a CA coast driving vacation and this was our least favorite of the hotels...

Robert, thank you for letting me know about your experience here. We are replacing the carpets, but not all have been done yet. I just asked the housekeeping staff to check and change any tub mats that won't come clean. We normally change them every 3 months. We only serve a continental breakfast that does not require handleing by the...

For a number of years we have come to Ventura in October to attend the Seaside Games, and we have stayed at the Vagabond Inn each time. It's nothing fancy, but it is clean and comfortable. Unfortunately this year a heavy metal music festival was scheduled in Ventura for the same weekend as the Seaside Games, and quite a number...

I am very sorry for the noise. We ended up calling the police out to break up the party. This heavy medal event was a one time event (I hope). We honestly didn't know anything about it. We thought all the reservations were for the Highland Games. I will be sure to check with the Magestic Theater in the future...

Wanting to get away for a short Vacation we headed to Ventura, Ca and stayed at the Vagabond Inn with our dog. Exterior of buildings look like they did in the 60s. The room was nice size and clean. Bathroom had tile floor and tub shower that were bright and clean.Beds were a little on the firm side but comfortable....
