This hotel is over 100 years old. The lobby is a bit of shabby chic and dominated by the owner's dog and cat - both very friendly. Pets are welcome. The bar on Saturday night has entertainment and often the owner sits in with him to sing away (they are both very good). The rooms are tiny. We had a...

Stayed in room 15. Bathroom tile broken, sharp points and edges there for bare feet. Not good. Overall peace is dirty and cluttered and in need of a lot of maintenance and fresh coat of paint. Clear neglect on part of owners, just bare minimum effort in management.

Positives-1. Walking distance to the ferry if you are visiting Cumberland Island. 2. Our room had a beautiful view of the peer. Negatives-1. Hotel and furnishings need an upgrade. (We had issues with the air conditioning, 2 of 3 lights in our room were plugged in but did not work, horrible tv reception on a very small tv that could...

We had been driving for ten hours when we arrived in St. Mary's. Our first stop was at the Riverview to see if they had any availability. We asked the desk person if they had a room, they didn't. I asked her if she could refer us to another hotel. The clerk coldly replied we should look in a phone...

We stayed at Riverview Hotel for a long weekend trip a couple of weeks ago and it was wonderful. The rooms are very quaint, unique and comfortable. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. We loved sitting on the porch and watching the river. The bar was a fun place to converse with both locals and tourists. The first night...

Stayed here in August 2013. Friendly staff. Very old hotel but the rooms have been updated. Enjoyed sitting on the porch at night. Historic. If you have cat allergies beware. They have numerous cats on the premises, one even hung out in our room! I didn't mind! Close to the ferry for Cumberland island. For a fee they packed us...

When I went to write my review of this hotel and saw some of the uncomplimentary reviews I was so surprised. This is a great little place celebrating its 100 year anniversary. The room was very comfortable (we slept better than we have in weeks of hotel travel). They allow pets. They have a great local type pub and a...

We had a lovely visit at the Riverview Hotel. It was fun letting my daughter experience a historic hotel with "real keys," high ceilings, antique furniture, and authentic charm. The proprietors were helpful and friendly. The bar was filled with cheerful music lovers. And the balcony was populated with peaceful folk hanging out and taking in a great view of...

I liked this hotel from the minute I walked into the lobby. Very cozy with a lot of character and charm. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. I had the Three Sisters room which is one of the smaller rooms but it was clean, well appointed, comfortable bed, quality Linens, and a large bathroom. Conveniently located close to the Ferry...

We love old historic buildings, we have a historic home of our own...from the moment we opened the door to our room, we were very disappointed with the quality of the room. The first morning I woke up, could hardly move, the mattress was so bad. The pillows were at least 20 years old, linens stained and old. The door...
