From reading other reviews of this place, it is just what the doctor ordered for some, but it sure wasn’t for us. The front desk help was friendly and the lobby was cute and homey, with a dog and cat to greet you, and later at night a big wood fire going, a chess set, and board games. An adjoining...

Stayed there 1 night after touring Death Valley, like most of visitors I assume. Don't expect luxury, it's nothing like that. Friendly staff. Restaurant was closed at night and I left too early to enjoy breakfast. The room (#1) was very simple, the bed was not very comfortable. Not many options around there, so it's OK for 1 night. I...

Very unique experience, a must for all desert lovers, go, stay, listen to the silence, look at the stars, make a fire, hike around, see performance, if possible. You will never forget it. Amargosa Cafe is a must, too. Best coffee, best food, best people ever. .

Do your homework before you go. This is an utterly unique experience which you will not forget in a hurry. Do not expect luxury , that is not what it is about . It is about the dream (fantasy?) 50 years ago of the ballerina , Marta Becket (now 92 ) to turn an abandoned miner´s dance hall into a...

We stayed one night while touring Death Valley NP. Quaint, no frills type of place that has a lot of potential. Would have liked to stay longer to be able to tour the opera house and take in a show. The restaurant was closed, but we were directed to the casino down the road. Innkeeper was very friendly and helpful,...

We stayed here for 3 nights, whilst doing day bicycle rides in Death Valley where accommodation was much more expensive. Its as the pictures, its quirky and a a bt dated, but the staff are friendly and the room whilst basic, was perfectly functional. There was a communal fridge and we brought milk and cereal for our own breakfast. There...

Usually my policy for Tripadvisor is to review only the hotels & restaurants we enjoyed because I don't like to bash anybody. However, we read the reviews, decided to stay here based on those reviews and were mightily disappointed; we think it would be more helpful for you to know some things before you choose to stay: Looking for someplace...

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We do apologize for Wilson , the cat, behavior. He was rescued from an animal shelter, one month ago, where he was for 8 months. During his stay there he was attacked twice by dogs. We are hopeful that this behavior will soon be corrected.

Stayed on a Saturday night travelling from San Fran to Vegas and loved this place. Literally in the middle of nowhere but had a karaoke night with the locals that was amazing. Ate in the restaurant which was ok but the bar was good with great service. It's literally in the desert so the bad reviews below need a reality...

My husband and I stayed here on our way to Las Vegas from San Francisco. The hotel was charming and the staff welcoming. As previous reviews have stated - it's not a Hilton or a Marriott, so don't come for the facilities, come for the history, heart and soul! We did happen to come on a night that the restaurant...

Absolutely authentic, quirky, amazing! It is a beautiful, old building of white adobe, very southwestern. The bathroom shower has a skylight. There are other unique features. Highly recommend it! I would go there again in a minute, if I didn't live on the East Coast. Having grown up in New Mexico, I really connected to this place because it reminded...
