Holiday Haus is located where the action is in Mammoth Lakes. We are a short 5 minute walk to the Village at Mammoth where you will find restaurants, shopping, mountain biking and of course mountain access via the Village Gondola for skiing and snowboarding. During the summer months, we are in close proximity to the many music venues, including Bluesapalooza and other Village events. If you want easy cross-country skiing, mountain biking with minimal hills or walking trails, a trail for all is accessible via our property. As a recently updated property with a variety of room types and price points, we welcome you to come and stay with us for some fun in the mountains. We will also provide advice on things to do and will book your activities with no commissions or fees (back to us). For instance...have you been on a horse with your family and friends? Don't miss out on an opportunity to ride horseback on an easy, fun and beautiful trail ride from Red's Meadow to Rainbow Falls. We hope to you see you soon!

Big rooms full of local memoribilia and history. Walking distance to several restaurants and surprisingly quiet at night. Interesting experience as we never actually met anyone associated with the hotel (remote check in / check out) but nothing really wrong with that, it all worked well.

Experience just weird. This is def one of those places that is not giving u the best experience during these times. WiFi refused to work while typing in the “correct” password multiple times. “Fireplace” in the room was false advertising. Idk man just expected something different than what I thought

I recently went on a solo trip to Mammoth and found the Holiday Haus Motel on Hotels.com. For the time of year the price was decent ($164 night) especially compared to the mammoth owned properties. It was also comparable to VRBO and AirBnB. The room was dated but comfortable. I got the King size bed which was equipped with a fire place (which is actually the heater...you turn off the heat and the fire also turns off which makes sense), mini fridge, sink to wash dishes and a microwave. There was also a small table to eat with a companion, a desk and futon. My room was set up for a handicapped visitor so the bathroom was extra large with a big shower. Again, the items in the room were dated but clean. I used the hot tub which is only open between 3-9pm. The tub is fairly small, only 4 -5 people fit comfortably and it was really hot probably around 105 degrees which only allowed you to sit in it for about five minutes before you overheated. Also it is an above ground unit which doesn’t bother me but the deck built around it was falling apart. The boards were a bit loose and are uneven. I personally wouldn’t walk around on it without something on your feet. I checked out the continental breakfast but didn’t eat anything. There were bagels, cereal, yogurt and fruit. As for other food, the hotel is in walking distance to the village as well as some restaurants on Main st. The one thing that caught my ear while I was trying to get ice from the front desk was another guest changing rooms because he found a mouse running around the room. Although I would want to move as well, it doesn’t surprise me that animal life is in a warm room in the middle of a forest in winter. Overall it was a good stay, got what I paid for, and the bed allowed for a comfortable night of sleep.

I would stay here again as long as I wasn’t with anyone who was picky about modern or fancy accommodations. This place is basic but does the job just fine. Biggest plus is how close to the mountain it is. Pros: Affordable Free breakfast (very basic continental style) Good location (walkable to the Village/gondola) Easy parking Nice view Warm room and good hot water Cons: No one at the front desk after 8pm Slightly lumpy beds and pillows Dated rooms. Not in great condition.

We had the worst experience at Holiday Haus and will never book there again. We had booked a room for four nights and upon arrival for check in were told the hotel cancelled our reservation because of a plumbing problem. The front desk attendant on site that day (January 11) was undoubtably one of the rudest and most unprofessional people I have ever come across in customer service. It took her close to five minutes after giving her my full name and confirmation number multiple times to finally tell me they cancelled our reservation. We asked for another room and she said the hotel was full (even though there were rooms available on multiple hotel sites we referenced at the time). I made our reservation over two months prior and was flabbergasted the hotel did not make any effort to give us another room or at the very least call to notify us. I asked the front desk woman if she had my phone number, she said yes, and I asked why the hotel hadn’t called to notify us of the cancellation - there was no response or apology from her. We had to book another room at Juniper Springs that was double our cost at Holiday Haus because of this last-minute fiasco. This was a horrible experience but turned out for the best because four nights at that dump of a hotel would have been hell. Juniper Springs was excellent and will be our pick from now on.

Beware when booking this hotel - if there are emergency situations they WILL NOT work with you!!! I called the motel prior to arrival because we were going to arrive after 9 PM, there was a note that we needed to contact the hotel directly for a late arrival. The front desk told that my key and information was going to be hanging on a bulletin board inside the unlocked front door of the lobby to pick up and that I could come sign forms in the morning - this concerned me greatly from a safety perspective. I ended up not being able to make it to the location due to road closures and gridlock traffic from wildfires. I called as soon as I knew we were not going to make it to the motel, the person who answered the phone said they would note that I could not make it to the location due to fires, and to call Expedia regarding a refund. The hotel refused to work with me on the refund, and claimed I never spoke to them regarding the situation. I will not be booking with them again.

I appreciate rules but I also appreciate common sense. After a 7 hour motorcycle ride we arrived at the Holiday Haus at approximately 1:40 p.m.. We attempted to check in and were told by the clerk check in wasn't for 20 minutes at 2. Now I'm accustomed to waiting for a room to be made up before I can check in. However in this case there were no maids working, and it was a completely vacant motel with not a single car in the parking lot. We were not allowed to check in because it was their "rule". We asked if we could leave our luggage somewhere and we would go grab a bite to eat for 20 minutes. The answer was no. They directed us to a walking- distance restaurant where we could wait the 20 minutes. We asked to leave our 2 motorbikes parked (in the still empty lot) for the 20 minutes while we walked next door. We were told to move our vehicles off the premises since we weren't yet registered guests (however our rooms were paid for in advance). Upon our return in 20 minutes the clerk did not say welcome, not even hello. Simply asked for my ID, threw two keys on the counter and directed us to rooms. Only other words spoken were to remind us that we needed to be out by 11 a.m. prompt. Come on owners, why don't you fire the help and install a kiosk; it would have far better personality and could at least ensure that each guest was greeted with the words welcome, thank you, or enjoy your stay. A recorded message could at least fake the notion of hospitality. Never ever again. $250 for musty smelling old motel room.

I understand this is a Motel but I have traveled around the world and stayed in many places! this is not even considered a 1 star! They told us to come to the front desk to connect to the internet!!??? Wait what?? in this day and age?? really? We had to go find Starbucks to get a reliable internet connection! TV was barley working on one of the nights, Bed so uncomfortable and lump sided i had to ask for extra comforter to put on the mattress but still very uncomfortable! We decided to check out one night early after the most terriblest night and off course they are now avoiding us and the front office lady lied and never told anyone we checked out a day early so no Refund off course! LIES, dont state on the outside wall of your hotel that you have Internet and that its newly Renovated!

Lovely motel with big room, nice kitchen area and good bathroom. The people working there are just lovely and breakfast is good enough to set you up for the day. I loved the little pictures and articles on the walls in our room - really interesting to read. Would definitely stay here again
