If you enjoy historical places, this is a nice venue. The original building is a creaking place with little insulation and few old amenities. Definitely antiquated. The other buildings have better amenities but they still are a bit pricey for what you get. It's all...More
We stayed for two nights in one of the waterfront cabins. These are the most expensive rooms they have and they are in a beautiful wooded setting with shaded decks looking over the water. On arrival at 2:15 PM, we had to search for someone...More
I am currently living through the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. And as the owner of a tour company I have stayed at a lot of hotels. But Captain Whidbey Inn is by far the worst I've experienced. The hotel itself is charming...More
Captain Whidbey Inn was a surprise for us. We did not know what to expect other than we were told it is quite rustic. Well it was fancier than rustic but had a historic charm. The grounds are very nice and the place is well...More
My partner again decided to surprise me with a week-end getaway to Whidbey Island. Unbeknownst to me, he booked us at Captain Whidbey Inn. Now I must preface this with a nod to the beautiful historic location and log cabin inn, built in 1907, and...More

I am sorry your experience at Captain Whidbey was so dismal. I don't know what question you would like me to answer, other than the fact that obviously our experience was different. I am on a diet, so when we eat out (especially when we don't have a refrigerator for leftovers) we usually just get appetizers where we can control the portions. We enjoyed ours very much. We stayed at the inn prior to peak tourist season when the weather was cooler and there were no fruit flies to pester us. The lodge was hosting a wedding, so things were busy over there. Regardless, our needs were met. (Our amenities worked fine at the time and we had no need to contact the front desk once we were in the room.) That being said, I would certainly also be upset, if our experience had been like yours.
