we loved our stay! if you are lucky enough to be there on a Saturday, there is an excellent farmers market at the park nearby. the room is beautiful, the breakfast is great. But by far the best part was meeting and chatting with the owner - Cesar. I am absolutely humbled by Cesar, he is extremely hardworking and incredibly thoughtful (he offered to find and deliver a cake for my mom when he found out it was her birthday) , and just fun to talk to. The world needs more people like Cesar.

The Gables is a beautiful victorian mansion from the late 1800s. All of the furniture is original. Our room had a nice sunporch and the bed was very comfortable. What really impressed us was the service. We asked to park our car early and they allowed us early check-in. We asked if we could pay extra to invite 2 guests for breakfast and they served us a delicious breakfast, declining the extra payment. There are drinks and coffee available at all times and the staff is always available.

The Gables is a beautiful victorian style house and decorated to match the era. All of the furniture is authentic. They serve a great breakfast every morning. You may be inclined to go elsewhere for breakfast; don't. This is not your standard cheap continental breakfast. Cesar (the owner) and Linda are fantastic and very accommodating to your needs. There is a beautiful porch and garden area where you can sit and lounge before your begin your day while sipping coffee or at the end of the day with a glass of wine. 5 stars. Will be back.

After visiting our daughter who is studying in PA for a celebratory dinner, storm Ida convinced us to play it safe and not commute back to NJ. Found this lovely B&B online and Cesar was super accommodating from the start. It was close to 10pm and Cesar was there to guide us into his lot in the rain. There was something magical about arriving to this historic gem unexpectedly. So much care and attention to detail in selecting their furniture and musical instruments. Breakfast was delicious with no detail spared. Heading back home on the GS Parkway and seeing remnants of the flooding damage we feel blessed to have been accommodated by Cesar at the Gables. 🙏🏻
