Detailed Reviews
The location is convenient to downtown and walkable a few blocks to local features and restaurants. The rooms are very small and I only stayed one night on a 3 night business trip - moving to the city center marriott the remainder of my trip as the desk was right against the bed and barely room for a chair.
The folks at the front desk were nice and when I arrived late suggested their pick for local delivery and said there were no local restaurants open. I found one great restaurant less then a block away.
This is probably a good bet if you're very budget conscious but want to stay downtown. My main complaint is size of the rooms so be forewarned.

Awesome location, clean sheets, clean towels, very comfy bed, loved the two bottles of water, and the little coffee maker, nice staff members made me feel safe for solo travel. A tall, young man checked me in as early as 10am-ish. This front desk lady Carrol (IIRC) welcomed me with a chocolate bar. There were some issues with the heater and telephone in the room. The maintenance man came quickly and then after his second visit, they changed me to a new room (a corner large room, loved it!). Carrol checked on me by asking how was the new room when I passed by the lobby later and she said she wanted me to feel safe even though it was only one night. Fast forward, she even asked me if I carried an umbrella when I was heading out the last day, raining badly. She ensured me that my bus station was close by. Also, the man for the night shift was friendly open the door for me. Overall, the property, furniture, and some amenities could be old and dated, probably 6or7/10 (something that staff members couldn’t fix easily, but all decent for staying a night or two) , location and staff members were absolutely 10/10. (Photos showed the first room I checked in.)

Stayed 1 night for Auto Show Black Tie. Received upgraded corner room overlooking convention center and city hall. The bathroom was new and modern, along with the rest of the furnishings. There is no closet built in closet but a vanity to hang your cloths with a small ironing board and iron.

I first want to say it got a 2/5 because the staff tried their best to make my stay decent but it still doesn't excuse the terrible state of things.
First of all, the walls are PAPER THIN. You can hear conversations in the other room.
I was kept up all night due to their incredibly loud heating system. When running it, it sounds like car engine revving up. When it's being run by the room next to mine, it sounded like a jet engine. The automated heat system would run for 20-30 minutes every 30 minutes and it would vibrate the entire room. It made it absolutely impossible for me to get any sleep. I asked the staff if I could relocate but the hotel had no vacancies.
Even worse, there was another guest in the other room who arrived around midnight and started blasting music at full volume. I made a noise complaint and the staff told him to quiet down. Unfortunately he went back to blasting music an hour later. When the staff came back, he started banging on my door and threatened me before leaving for the rest of the night.
And just as an extra "screw you" to me, he turned on his alarm clock to 5am. I learned the hard way these alarm clocks do not turn off on their own and I had to get staff to come shut it off.
The staff was nice enough to let me check out 2 hours later because of this but honestly I should have been given a full refund for this godawful stay.
Oh, and the bathroom was barely cleaned. I had to deep scrub off several stains on the toilet seat.

This hotel is well worn and old. The sink pipes in our room were so old, that all we could get was a trickle of water. We bent over the tub to wash our hands & face and to brush our teeth. We were on the 4th flood and the elevator was so old, with noises and hard stops, it was concerning. With other hotels in the area, be kind to yourself and don't stay here. Very disappointing and sad that it is a Marriott Bonvoy property. Not at all up to Marriott standards.

Three nights here and no housekeeping service. We said we wanted it and still didn't get it. No one serviced the room. We asked why and got two different answers. One guy implied that we must have put out the "Do Not Disturb Sign." We didn't. The next guy we talked with said that they do not offer housekeeping service unless you ask for it. But if true, no one told us this when we checked in.
Also, large groups of teen-agers were staying here. Noisy.
And the hotel restaurant is poor. The waffles tasted like they were rewarmed in a microwave. Not fresh at all. Eggs overdone. Go to the Reading Terminal Market for breakfast instead; it is a very short walk away.

BartholomewEnglebert, Thank you so much for the feedback. I agree our team member should have handled the housekeeping complaint in different manner and our front desk team should have followed up with you immediately after consulting with the housekeeping manager. I apologize that the quality of food was not up to you standards. I will share your feedback with our restaurant, front desk and housekeeping group with directions on a better way to handle the situation in the future. Wishing you more safe and enjoyable travels in the future!

2 minutes walk from Reading Terminal Market and Chinese restaurants. 7 minutes walk from the shopping centers. The location is great.
Hotel room is of good size and clean. There are hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, which show their efforts of environmental protection for reusing towels. The layout of the bathroom is weird as the glass door of the shower and the door of the bathroom could bump into each other and there is no place to put my own soap or shampoo inside the bath. So I will have to open the shower door during the shower to get my stuffs, and the flour will be wet.
Complimentary bottles of water in the room.
I was there for a meeting in the hotel, and only spent time in the room to sleep. I arrived early, and they were able to put me in a room, without waiting for the 3 pm check-in time. Really appreciate. It was a nice stay.

Be careful getting double charged for parking! Stayed for proximity to the airport for parking/shuttle convenience for a vacation. I Prepaid for parking through Parkway Parking, the company that manages their parking lot and then got charged again for parking on my bill. When we sent them the email receipt for the prepaid parking they told us they'd take the charge off the bill. Nope. Never did. I have spoken to, emailed, left VMs 10 times now for Chirs, the manager, and STILL haven't gotten the $120 charge off my bill. Frustration has shifted to anger. -Colleen

This was my second time staying here. The room was great. The only gripe I have is, when I was checking out, I went to grab a luggage cart, and the ONLY luggage cart was taken and loaded by a hotel employee with laundry supplies. I worked for a hotel in my younger years, if we would have used the luggage cart, I would have been written up if not fired. I had to wrangle 2 suitcases and a non working mobility scooter by myself because a hotel employee was using guest amenities.

We never had a problem walking anywhere night or day including travelling on the subway to and from the Philly's ball game.
