Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially after I locked myself out of my room. It was in a good location, about a 15-minute walk to the convention center and Reading Terminal Market. I had a street side room and traffic was a little loud but that's probably to be expected anywhere downtown.

Hotel's Favourite
Our group stayed at the Alexander Inn for three nights and had a great experience. The location is wonderful with easy walking distance to many restaurants as well as the sightseeing buses (3 blocks away). The staff especially Tina and Sharena at the front desk made our stay extra special. They were so warm and helpful. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The breakfast room was available for social time for our group of 12. I highly recommend the Alexander for visitors and for family reunions.

Within walking distance of Theatre Exile (where we had tickets) and walking distance to the Gayborhood with various eateries. Extremely nice decor - old world feeling and extremely CLEAN. The area felt very safe walking at night.

We've enjoyed staying at the Alexander Inn twice. There is reduced rate parking nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the spaces are well-decorated with interesting art. The beds are comfortable, and the water pressure is great. All around comfortable experience.

Standard Room is very small and bathroom is about as small as you can imagine with no tub and a shower that leaked onto tiny floor. Room very hot and small air conditioner did litter to improve. They advertise breakfast but only self serve coffee, orange Juice, bagels, croissants and bananas. Parking is a 5 minute walk. At least room was clean. The location is goof for visiting Philadelphia’s historic attractions with plenty of places to eat and drink. Would have stayed elsewhere.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate you telling us the pros and cons. We are aware that some of our guest do need more space. We offer bigger rooms with more space, bay windows, bathing tubs and a beautiful view. Next time you visit please book our Deluxe Queen room or our Deluxe King Room. We have also been adding a few extra things to our breakfast menu as well. We apologize that your stay was unpleasant. Maybe we can change your mind in the future. Please return.

Good location. Felt "at home." Rooms are smaller than most chain hotels, but they are comfortable and clean. Free continental breakfast basic but good and filling. Front desk staff friendly and informative on such matters as parking and nearby amenities.

This was our second stay and I am so happy I decided to stay at the Alexander Inn again. Staff is great, rooms are clean, location is ideal. It’s has what you need for a few nights! It is so nice to have a hotel where you feel not only safe, but welcome. It is an older building, but I think that is part of its charm. The bed is quite comfortable for a hotel bed. It’s wasn’t as if the floor would have been a better option-as we have all experienced. A few blocks away are places to eat. It was easy for an Uber to get to. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is not only quiet, but also safe. I don’t think I’ll ever stay anywhere else when I have to go overnight to Philadelphia. My husband says their complementary breakfast was good. I liked that it was in walking distance of a Starbucks. Overall, a great stay and a great hotel! Thank you Alexander Inn for being a great place to stay!

Philadelphia's Alexander Inn, a boutique hotel close to Center City, has a warm, home-like atmosphere. Staff is courteous, warm, and friendly. The guestrooms are well-appointed and comfortable. The continental breakfast, however, is sparse, and the bathrooms have minimal countertop space.

Our second stay at the Alexander Inn was even better than the first. Our room was comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for a good stay. The staff are exceptionally helpful, the lobby and fireplace and lounge are lovely spaces and we appreciate the historic preservation of the beautiful building and the art deco touches in the decor. The location is impossible to beat - walk to everything in Center City! Even rooms on the street are quiet and linens/towels good quality. Looking forward to our next stay!
