This will continue to be my go-to place in Center City. It's easy to get to and well-located for outings on foot. The "pocket-size" room was as boutique as could be. Absolutely no complaints. They've added Continental breakfast (fairly generic) since last time I stayed here; there's also "Toast" (café) right across the street.

My husband and I traditionally visit Philly in December to visit the Christmas village and and walk around the city and eat/drink. We usually only go in for the day. This year we decided to stay the night and chose the Alexander Inn! So happy with our choice! The room was perfect with a view of the Liberty Place buildings....

I revisited this hotel for, what?, perhaps the fifth time. It is still excellent: courteous staff, well maintained and equipped, great location, and above all, a ratio of value-for-the-dollar that is, I think, impossible to beat in downtown Philadelphia. Because it's in a vibrant neighborhood, expect some noise from outside as late as 2, 3, 4 a.m. But hey, that's...

I stayed 2 nights while attending a convention. I had one of the twin rooms, which was perfect for one. The front desk staff was always pleasant. The continental breakfast was a nice touch. The staff kept the area nicely stock with breakfast items. The gentleman during the week was great, while the older gentleman on the weekend was a...

Was in town for a large conference, but did not want to stay in one of the giant convention center hotels. This is a lovely little hotel with small rooms at great prices. Lobby is a nice meeting spot with fireplace going on a cool evening. Breakfast included in the room rate, perfect to grab a bite and get going...

As my activities in Philadelphia were mainly at the Kimmel Center, just a few minutes' easy walk from the hotel, the Alexander was perfectly located. The staff were excellent, helpful and obliging...the breakfast was not flash but certainly adequate... the wifi worked most of the time - but best of all my room was totally quiet and I was unaware...

Great location in a really cool neighbourhood, parts of which are still a little edgy but all quite safe. Super restaurants in the neighbourhood as well. At the Alexander Inn you feel very much part of the neighbourhood and the laid back atmosphere at the Alexander make it a real pleasureable place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff and...

Booked this for my son for his post grad interview at UPenn. Location was great and staff was very helpful. He was bummed that he was only in the room for 5 hours and said there was much to see in the area. Room was clean, comfortable and he would stay again.

As first time visitors to Philly we were unsure what was a good area to stay in and what hotels would be good. We read the tripadvisor reviews and felt Alexander Inn would be a good choice. We were not disappointed! From the moment we booked on line to the moment we departed the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient....

The Alexander Inn was just what we needed for the night. The staff was super helpful and gave great recommendations. The room was a little small but we were not in it except to sleep and shower. The location in the historic area was perfect and everything was within walking distance. Reading Terminal Market was a short walk and worth...
