The Alexander Inn is one of a rare breed in a major city: an affordable boutique hotel. The hotel staff takes pride in making sure you are comfortable. During my first stay, I was greeted with courtesy each time I passed the front desk. By my third stay at the Alexander, the front desk staff, each doubling as check-in and...

We just stayed one night and i am sad that it was so short. The whole interior is art-y and simple. The staff was really helpful and friendly (they let me do a call from their private mobile) and the breakfast choice was good. I definitely will come back again and recomend it to friends

All the staff in this hotel were very friendly and extremely friendly. We especially like Jake who always came to meet us and ask us where we were going that day. They were all very good at getting taxis as my husband was on crutches. The bedroom was lovely and the bed huge. The gentleman who served up the breakfast...

I now know why this hotel is listed top on tripadvisor. A wonderful hotel. This hotel is very clean and well taken care of. There was beautiful lillies placed throughout the hotel lobby and eating area. The room was clean and comfortable. Since the hotel is in the heart of the city there is no parking at the hotel, however...

Stayed here a full week in September on vacation. The room (#602) for this single traveler was compact, but very well laid out and furnished - and meticulously clean. The staff, from desk attendants to chambermaids, were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts, with no pretension to hearty lumberjack heapings of hot artery-clogging goodies, nonetheless offered a selection to satisfy most...

Let me get this out of the way --- yes, the rooms are quite small. That being said, how much time do most people spend in the room in a city like Philadelphia. By the time you are done walking your sticks to the nub, all you want to do is shower and hit the bed. From the moment that...

I tried this hotel on a whim, as I was travelling back to my home town on business and wanted a different experience. It's listed as a boutique hotel and it fits the description well. The neighborhood is not necessarily my style, but I loved the Alexander. I booked over the phone and told them it would be for just...

Located within easy walking distance from the Greyhound bus station, train, buses and restaurants, this is ideal for travellers without a car. The room was small and a little "fatigued" but it was clean and the bed was comfortable Saturday night was a little noisy. Their breakfast was by far the best we had at hotels through the US (only the...

We visited as part of our tour of USA on our honeymoon in August; what a gem! The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable, informative and lovely - they give you so much information on the local area which we used the whole time. The hotel is so sweet, old but in a charming way, our room was a lovely size....

My partner and I live in Baltimore and about twice a year we go up to Philly for the weekend, to get away, visit the museums, and so on. Some friends told us to try the Alexander Inn, which is located in the midtown "gayborhood" area we like but which has a lot of character, unlike to new, "modern" hotels....
