Came with family for a Saturday evening stay. As we pulled up, no one at the door offered to help us with our bags, so we had to carry our bags up the stairs ourselves. The room was impressive, much better size than anticipated based on pictures and for being in the city. It’s fortunate that the room was large, because it’s where we had to spend leisure time due to the club level being closed and the entire lobby occupied by the bar, with hostess seating required. When we arrived back for the evening hoping for a nightcap, we found a completely packed lobby/bar with no available seating. The hostess informed us we could stand at the bar- not what we were expecting and no other alternatives offered. This forced us back to the room; we ordered room service, and the staff were quick, courteous, and attentive. At check out, there was no one standing by the door to help us out, so we again had to carry our luggage down. Overall we paid for a nice room, but didn’t receive the service or amenities expected from a Ritz. Having stayed at other locations, this definitely disappointed.

Not the typical Ritz experience… Spend the extra money… stay at the Four Seasons. Last night I experienced the worst cocktail at the hotel bar. After attempting to order something else the bartender did try to correct the drink by overwhelming it with simple syrup. He didn’t bother to try any attempt at service recovery— perhaps because it was new year’s eve and they were overwhelmed at 6pm or didn’t care because, despite being paid guests, didn’t purchase an armband for the upcoming celebration? Arrived back to room at midnight on a Saturday. The bellhop staff was too busy congregated and chatting outside to acknowledge us or open a door. The front desk was void of any lady or gentleman. The room did not have nightly turndown service (we left the room around 6:45 pm) and this is a common service at most Ritz or Four Seasons properties. I’d be reluctant to suggest that my company continue to place executives in this location. Finally, my reservation says club access but when I inquired about it, the front desk gentleman said that was an extra fee. So why does my reservation say otherwise? I’ve never experienced this inconsistent service level at any Four Seasons property.

Other than a bad breakfast experience I was very pleased with this hotel. The service, aside from breakfast, was very good. Our room was large and had nice views, even from the bath tub. Lobby is impressive and everything in the room worked. No street noise , at least not on the 22nd floor. If only breakfast in a very nice setting just off the lobby had not been so slow and so poor I would have rated this higher. Not the best Ritz I have stayed but very well priced given its location.

My husband and I usually come once a year for a romantic getaway. In past years we have been thrilled with the service . Unfortunately this year we were very disappointed by our stay. A few things that went poorly: - the lineup at check-in extended all the way through the lobby and took over half an hour to get to the front of the line. - we arrived at four and our room still wasn’t ready - there was rarely ever a doorman at the door. And if there was, they rarely opened the door, as they were often too busy on their phones. - we ordered room service and they forgot to bring us the requested coffee. They left to get the coffee. And never came back. - when I checked out, the front desk didn’t even ask how my stay was. This hotel just doesn’t feel like a 5 star hotel anymore. Perhaps the issues are related to COVId staffing issues, but it made for a very disappointing weekend. Hopefully the hotel can turn things around in due time. But next time I think I’ll check out the Four Seasons.
