I attended a nursing conference at the convention center. The hotel was right across the street!! Super easy for a busy week and very large convention center layout. The staff were friendly. We had a room on floor 7 : end of the hall so relatively little traffic by our door. Same floor as the small but adequate fitness room. Pool was closed. Elevator service was prompt. We did not take advantage of the dining room as it was not included. But Duncan donuts across the street!! There was always someone at the door for security watch. Low key but present. The neighborhood does has some street folk but I did not feel unsafe.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is my home away from home in Philadelphia. I visit 2-3 times per year and will always stay here. The staff is professional and friendly, even during COV ID and renovations. It's conveniently located a couple blocks from Jefferson Street Station (Airport line), the trolley, the MFL, and the BSL. No rental car needed! The Dunkin Donuts across the street is a must visit for breakfast. Rooms are always sparkling clean and well-maintained. Area is perfectly safe if you pay attention and know how to behave in a major city. Tons of restaurants within walking distance, including the must-visit Reading Terminal Market. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!

Just checked in only to find the door under one of the TVs broken, the A/C cover broken, the fridge not working, and no sheets for the third bed (sofa bed). To top it all off, there is no safe in the room. Very disappointed.

The Good: Great location. King room was clean and no issues with housekeeping (know that you must request cleaning, it is not automatic). Garden Grill on top floor was nice for a quick dinner. Reading Terminal Market is next door, which is a wonderful place to visit for food and other items. Security: I felt safe in the building, the elevator requires you swipe your key before choosing a floor. The Bad: This is by far the rudest, least caring, and unorganized Front Desk staff I have ever encountered in a Hilton property. Every question was met with disdain, even when I smiled and asked politely. I could not purchase the upgraded internet ("you need to do it online") at the desk when I had an error trying to do it online. When asked, no information at all was provided about adjacent Parking. I had to ask for my bottled waters, even though they were a foot from the agent that checked me in. Agents loved chatting with each other, but when a customer approached, getting their attention was difficult. Someone really needs to improve this situation. The So-So: Parking is in the adjacent building, and it is NOT Hilton property. This is in the city, so it is $40/24 hours and there are no in/out permissions. So if you go in and out a few times, you are looking at a very expensive experience. It is best to Park and then walk or take public transport. There is no view from any of the rooms, as you are in the center of a busy block and adjacent to both the Convention Center and Reading Terminal.

I was staying in this hotel due to a conference I was attending across the street at the Convention Center for 4 days. Pros: - Across the street from the Convention Center and next to Reading Terminal Market - 2 Queen beds and couch (with 2 TV's) Cons: -Mouse spotted in room on the 9th floor. Where there's one, there's more. Many more! Hotel comped only 1 night -If you get a street facing room, you will hear "loud" motorcycles/car/people yelling/ambulances. -Restaurant on 10th floor is so so. Nothing spectacular. $13 Continental breakfast is not worth it. Just go 100 steps to the Reading terminal market instead. Plenty of better choices. - Many homeless people in the immediate area. Could be uncomfortable for some. I will never come back here.

Management was unresponsive to any flexibility with my booking. Several attempts were made to seek a satisfactory accomodation but all were rejected ultimately. I have stayed at this property before but am perplexed at their lack of reasonable customer service. I can't recommend this establishment. Stay elsewhere.

Location was great, hotel itself pretty average. Issues with housekeeping every day, even though we asked for housekeeping when we checked in. Had to chase after towels, coffee, cups, etc. Staff was friendly, location is great for walking to the sites.

I stayed at HGI in Philly twice for work, the main reason I stayed was because I wanted points with Hilton. The location is great to the right you can shop at Primark and there is a pizza place on the corner and plenty of shopping. To the left there is a market with fresh seafood and many shops and eateries. Excellent location. The hotel has a nice top floor restaurant where I had a nice breakfast during my stay. The service was okay but the views were really nice. The room was basic and during one of my stays there was good left in the room and during my second stay there was a used washcloth that I had to give to house keeping. Because of those two questionable situations I was concerned about how quickly housekeeping turns the rooms. But otherwise this is a great location.

We booked a double Queen room at the last minute to see the Philadelphia Flower Show, which was at the Convention Center right across the street. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. We were on the 10th floor which is where the restaurant and bar is located. Very busy weekend with lots of guests, but not too much noise. The lobby is the only location we saw where I’d say could use a refresh. The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful.
