Heating stopped working in the middle of winter. KARL HENDERSON in the engineering department was very quick in trouble shooting the issue and getting it resolved. His thoughtful, respectful and outgoing personality was appreciated in dealing with this issue. He worked quickly and had it resolved and the heater on within a matter of minutes. I've been to a number of hotels before and not one was as kind as KARL. An expert in his field and in customer service.
We stayed in town for a concert at Citizens Bank Park. the location was wonderful for all sorts of sightseeing. It is a beautiful city with so much to offer. I was saddened that a lot of the shops and restaurants are closed because of the pandemic. Seeing it and the difference since my last trip more than five years ago really hit home. The hotel was clean, modern and well appointed despite the fact that this is not a new building as it is right in the middle of the historic downtown. I was disappointed they closed the bar very early, but the bartender was very nice and she let us sit there while she did her cleaning after the last call. I think the whole area has suffered a lot because of the pandemic and I look forward to returning next summer when this pandemic is finally over once and for all!!!! I got a nice rate with parking included on their website and that proved to be a very good value given the average cost of parking in a larger city. It also allowed the cars in and out for hotel guests only, which is a major perk.…
The hotel was modest at best but it was sufficient for my visit to Philly to catch the Eagles vs Niners football game. The major issue I had was with the silly fees! The clerk advised me that my room was ready but If i wanted to check in early I’d need to pay $75 before 10am or $40 after 10am. The check in time without additional fees was 4pm. It just seems like a hustle considering that the room was ready. After a long red eye flight from Los Angeles, the last thing I want is to get hustled by a 3 star hotel, but thats was my experience. Of course the room I was given had hair in the tub and smelled of cigarette smoke. Do better SONESTSA!
This hotel scores highly for its location, spacious rooms and bathrooms, which was well equipped. But it massively let itself down by the fact that during my three night stay not once was my room serviced. This is not acceptable. And I should not have to ask at reception for the service to be done.
This is a solid option to explore Philadelphia. Sonesta is at the bustling city center and within moderate walking distance to all major tourist attractions. Room is simple and modern with all amenities readily available. Staff is polite and efficient. The area information guide provided by concierge is detailed and convenient. The place is pretty quiet at night to guarantee good sleep. Highly recommend.
I have stayed at this hotel several times the staff is beyond accommodating and the hotel very comfortable. This particular visit I needed special help very early in the morning. I called down to the desk and within minutes they were at my hotel door helping me. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff is, I would recommend this hotel and I will continue to stay there any visit to Philadelphia.
We spent one night at the hotel in Nov. We travelled from Los Angeles by plane and train. When we arrived at 3 pm at the hotel, the guy who checked us in informed us that our room was available but if we would like to check in now, we would need to pay $20 more for the hour. I was a bit surprised and then upset as I have never encountered this before at any hotels that I had stayed at especially when the hotel was not full. We were told to wait at the lobby for an hour or pay the extra. My teenage daughter was very tired and so I said yes. I then asked when this policy had started and a lady (not the one who was checking us in) suddenly barged in our conversation and said last week. I gave up on pursing the issue as I was tired and went to our room. My take on this is that this is a very unhappy hotel with unhappy reception staff doing what they were told to do. They are not there to give their customers a good service. They followed orders and that is it. BTW, the small corner room we got was sufficient. The bathroom was a bit run down but the bed was comfortable. This was the first time I stayed at a Sonesta hotel but I would never try again. I need to return to Philadelphia in Feb 23 and I have already booked another hotel.…
The room was very comfortable and had a great view. It was a little pricey but for the most part was worth it. The location was excellent as it was convenient to City Hall where Premier League Fan Fest was being held. It was also convenient to the subway which allowed easy access to Fishtown which we wanted to visit as well as being easy to get to and from the train station for our trains to and from the city.
Room is small but comfortable, especially the bed. Convenient location with valet parking available (be warned- it’s expensive at $52/night). Easy walk to shopping and recommend grabbing breakfast at Di Bruno Brothers a couple of blocks away.
Very disappointed, I stayed one night in a petite corner room prior to my event and my company has reserved 3 other nights at the same hotel. I wanted to move to the room that my company reserved but they cancelled my company's reservation and kept me in the small room. They lied to me saying that all rooms that the company reserved were petite rooms and when I checked with the company and others staying in the same hotel, their rooms were much bigger and better than mine. I don't appreciate how more than one person lied the same lie, and how they were not accommodating at all.
