My wife and I stayed overnight to celebrate our 15 wedding anniversary. We are fans of the W hotel chain and we’re looking forward to great visit. Check in was smooth, the reception area is really nice. Elevators were quick and the hallways were super clean. We loved our room, very cool and chic. It all seemed very clean & brand new. The major problem began later. After dinner ( and a walk around town) we returned to the hotel and it was jumping! It was kinda exciting to be all around the action. Well around 1 am all hell broke loose! There were tons of screaming and door slamming in our hall. We let it go for about an hour hoping it would calm down, it didn’t. Our next door neighbors were having a party ( and possibly a MMA fight). We called down to the front desk a couple times and finally gave up. The party ended around 4 and we caught a couple hours sleep. Obviously we won’t be staying at this W anytime in the near future and we won’t get our 15 yr anniversary back either.

Met friend at Dolce Restaurant for lunch because it supposedly required proof of vaccination to dine there before City Mandate went into effect. My guest and I arrived separately. Neither one of us was asked to show proof. Then, with restaurant virtually empty, they seated guests all in one section. Late in our meal someone was seated right on the banquette immediately next to us despite abundant open tables. I was asked to rate my experience by email. I expressed these concerns but received no response.

Finally checked out this new W. Smooth check in, Upgraded to (2) cool corners adjacent to each other. (Appreciated the thought of room placement). Guestroom(s) were beautiful, loved the floor to ceiling windows and the view at night. Slept well and just ordered a W pillow online. Wetdeck area looked lovely with the holiday decoration and heaters. Lobby was festive, but sadly, hostess would not seat us since all tables were "reserved". This made little sense since we would have been 20 minutes for a quick drink before the reservations even came in so we noticed several tables sat empty for long periods of time. Dinner at Dolce was nice, room service breakfast was good, but was lukewarm. Side note, the lobby doors are not timed right so both stay open which make the entrance very cold at check in, but this could be fixed. Overall we really liked the vibe of the property and plan to return for another couples night in the Spring. Ambassador level noticed with a nice box of chocolates and handwritten note, thank you.

From start to finish, this was the worst stay we've ever had a W Hotel. Our very dark suite was ok, but the service at this property was a disgrace. Our phones didn't work the entire w/e...absolute nuisance to get service of any type Room service took 1 hour and the order was wrong Bell man took 40 minutes to get to our room at departure Room never serviced I was told a manager would reach out to us soon after check out and of course, they never called us. We regret giving this new W a try. Back to the Four Seasons.

All I can say is LOL. Laugh Out Loud. A comedy of errors but in the spirit of staying positive all I can say is God Bless America and the City of Brotherly Love. Thanks for the evening, Philadelphia! You rock!
