Nestled in the heart of the city, Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia is celebrated for its prime location convenient for sightseeing, despite some safety concerns noted by a few guests. The hotel’s unique charm and live music frequently impress, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While the staff's friendliness and attentiveness are often commended, there are occasional remarks about slow service and unexpected fees.
Room experiences are mixed, with cleanliness and modern amenities applauded by many but marred by noise complaints and signs of wear for others. Additional praise is given to the hotel's amenities, though unexpected charges can surprise guests.

Hotel's Favourite
My husband stayed at the Kimpton for a long weekend in June 2023. The location is ideal for shopping and dining. It is located in a safe area that has many walkable options. I love the hotel is pet friendly and offers a complimentary happy hour. The room was clean and comfortable. Our room 409 was very quiet. We purchased breakfast for each morning. It was great. The dining staff were exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed two nights in December after Christmas for a family getaway. We arrived at roughly 4 PM in which the room was not ready so they offered us a dining credit at the restaurant adjacent to the lobby. The service in the restaurant was excellent and we had a wonderful cocktails and appetizers. The room was a standard double bedroom, very clean and the bathroom was appointed with the appropriate soaps etc. The location was great and walkable to many attractions. We did Uber to these when I was little the museums. The Mutter museum What is within walking distance and is a must see!!
We would definitely stay there again!!

Stayed for 2 nights in a city view spa room. The spa tub is the perfect size for a couple and the upgrade for the view is totally worth it- beautiful sunset and city lights at night. Can’t wait to come back!
Because of covid some amenities were limited - mini bar is locked (can’t use it as a fridge); no robes in the room. Not sure if you asked for these things specifically they would be available by request. Fitness center is closed. Housekeeping does not come in daily- fresh linens by request.
Wadiyyah gave great service at the front desk and staff were so quick and accommodating with requests for fresh towels, etc to the room. Thanks for an amazing stay!

We love Kimpton Hotels however it’s been a year since we felt comfortable enough to travel. The Palomar is a great place to stay while visiting Philadelphia. The room we stayed in was spotless and the steps that have been taken as a result of the Coronavirus have only made our stay more enjoyable. Even the television remote was wrapped in plastic to assure us that everything in the room had been sanitized. Complementary coffee was provided by the staff at the front desk however they poured the coffee to limit exposure to the coffee urns. Everything they did only made us feel better about our choice of staying at this wonderful hotel.

My wife and I stayed here over a recent Saturday night, using an IHG anniversary reward. We've been here before, like the hotel, its ambience, friendly staff and Center City location. We've also used Kimpton properties in several cities and tend to favor the brand when it makes sense from a price standpoint.
Unfortunately, the Palomar dropped the ball with a loud thud. When we arrived at 5:30 p.m., we were told the room wasn't ready because most of the housekeeping staff had called in sick. Half? Really? How many were there to begin with? Situations like this sound like all hands on deck, but that it then took us until 6:15 to get into the room and hurry to get changed for a party, it wasn't that many hands. The front desk was apologetic, but still. Whether this was a one-time glitch or something more systemic I don't know. But it's something that needs fixing fast.
First, they offered us a $50 credit, which would have been helpful if we had decided to park the car at the hotel, which has a $50 valet parking charge. Because of that we parked down the block for half that, not knowing the chaos inside the hotel. Later, they offered to credit back our free night. But despite following up on checkout and a callback promised, so far nothing.
The hotel itself is nice, but it has to do better. Until they can work out their staffing issues, I'd instead recommend the Kimpton Monaco on Independence Square, which has a lot of charm and a discount garage nearby so you don't have to pay their similarly extortionate parking rates.

Very much what I would consider a mid-range hotel and prices obviously fluctuate with demand.
Pros:
helpful front desk staff person who immediately switched my room when I complained about a moldy smell. I also appreciated being able to get in with an early arrival.
Fun elevator decorations
Great location
Pleasant lobby with flavored water all times of day and free wine late afternoons.
My room felt clean.
Con:
Room was tiny, including the bathroom.
Bed is very soft.
I was told at first in person it was sold out and started to book a different hotel, but then while in their lobby pulled up hotels.com and rooms were available. I understand how those sites work and the hotel didn’t have access to book those rooms, but he could have said, we’re sold out, but you might find a room through one of our partner sites.
Bathtub - not a shower-stall as most newer or updated hotels have these days. Also, curtain had a tear. Just little things that set nicer hotels apart from average.

We booked this hotel for a weekend getaway for me and my best friend. The location was just perfect, everything was in walking distance and the food was amazing.
The bar at the hotel was very put together and the waiter was very attentive.
The hotel staff was extremely over-the-top great customer service. Savannah made our stay 100% excellent after we had a toilet issue, she immediately put us into another room with no hesitation along with a credit on the room. We loved our stay here and i will stay here over and over and over again.

Stay far, far away from this place. It's dirty, do you know why? apparently housekeeping or room service does not exist because of COVID. Albeit, they have a mask requirement but don't adhere to it! Nor does its staff or guest. They charge 5 star pricing but deliver non of the amenities!!! You have to ask for housekeeping... however, they don't do the basics of changing sheets or towels, they just tuck your bed in and fold your towels. I can do that for less than a $400 a room night and their bathrooms are full of mold. This place is a joke stay anywhere but a KIMPTON Hotel. I've stayed at less than places - pick any hostel and you will find better accommodations.
JOKE - they need to update the pictures to truly reflect the conditions of a "five star" hotel. At a min... 1.5 stars and that just based on local.
Westin or Club Quarter

Spent the weekend in Philadelphia at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar and was very satisfied with our stay. The location is ideal and very walkable to great shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. I loved that there are full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower for your use. Really nice products too! We had a great city view from our windows. My daughter and I also took advantage of the free wine offered in the lobby during happy hour. Overall a really great weekend in Philadelphia and I would definitely stay here again!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Kimpton Palomar in Philly for two nights with family and friends. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed with a cosy fireplace in the lobby area to gather as a meeting place. Happy hour with wine was a treat, along with the popcorn. There was also coffee available in the morning, or you could ask for a personal sized Keurig for your room.
Special shoutout to Rian, who greeted us with a welcoming smile upon checking in. She answered all of our questions patiently and kindly. Kiki at the front desk was also very helpful. Both of them left us treats in our rooms, from spiced nuts, macaroons, to some bottles of Pellegrino, along with personal notes. What a nice gesture.
The beds were comfortable and the pillows, plentiful. If you forget to bring your toiletries, all it took was a quick phone call and they’d deliver it. The gym was well lit and ventilated, and had a nice bowl of fruits.
The Palomar is also in a terrific location. We were able to walk to our many destinations quite easily, the Philadelphia Art Museum, The Flower Show at the Convention Center, Chinatown, and the Rocky Statue.
Everyone we encountered during our stay was professional, courteous, and welcoming. Reuvon, Waddyyan, Ashley, Rian, and Kiki are all to be commended for the top notch service they provided. We would not hesitate to return.

I couldn't answer that, but everything was up to date, modern and clean.
I’m not sure about when it is offered but when there is an available rate that includes breakfast, that is for in restaurant dining. The diamond elite breakfast welcome amenity option also only applies to in restaurant dining. We received a voucher to present to the waitress which covered the meal as we ordered it. We were happy we ate there
I don’t know..call the hotel.
Lyft is your best bet. A few dollars. The hotel does not have a courtesy car. Enjoy your visit!
