The room was very clean and looked great. It had a loft studio feel with a brick wall and nice up lighting. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was very nice. It was conveniently close to many places on South St in Philly. I especially liked the free filtered water station. Will definitely book with Sonder again!

The Sonder is based just off of South Street in Philly – close enough for a 20 minute walk into the city centre, and well placed near all of the best food and independent stores in this part of town. The foyer and amenities of the building are A+, with luggage storage, regular cleaning, roof patio, as well as being connected to the local pizza restaurant.

The room is really lovely. If you are self-sufficient when staying out then this is an amazing experience. The rooms are huge. There is plenty of room to chill out. The quality of the bathroom is exceptional – really nicely designed and well stocked with soaps and amenities. If you need any more toiletries, they have a storage facility downstairs where you can grab EVERYTHING that you need – toothbrushes, pads, tampons, plasters, sowing kits... everything. The room does not come with a kettle, but there are some downstairs you can borrow. The bed is very large and super comfy. Our room also had a desk area. We will be staying at this Sonder again once the pandemic is over... -_-

Sonder is a welcome addition to a neighborhood (Queen Village and nearby Passyunk) with virtually no hotels. I have space-challenged friends in the area and used to have to stay in Old city or Rittenhouse. So, great neighborhood, contactless check-in etc. which is a new thing these days. Spotless, spacious room with chic minimalist industrial decor. Room #209 has a juliet balcony over-looking the interior courtyard. Nice for air, but hard to leave curtains open for light and have any privacy. Overall very quiet (no street noise) but I could hear someone walking (why do people stomp so!) in the room directly above me.. Decent linens, Coffee maker and supplies in room, water cooler in the hall. No safe for valuables. I liked the hard bed. I didn't use the "TV" which required the Chromecast app so don't expect broadcast or cable TV. Free wifi internet was plenty fast enough to stream on my own computer. Paid parking across the street, loads of restaurants etc. Beware that navigating the contactless stay, using the entry key pads and some of the stairs might be a challenge for seniors. Excellent value, I would def. stay here again.

This Sonder was in a great location in Philadelphia. It was beautiful. The problems that come with it may not be worth it. We were called before our reservation to be told that our unit HVAC system was not working. It was cool, so we were told that they would have two space heaters waiting for us when we arrived. When we got there they were not there. We decided to not say anything, and just deal with it. However then on the first night we were threatened and harassed by a resident that lives in the same building. He lived in the unit below where we were staying and he was beating on the walls yelling and cursing at us. He was saying that we were making too much noise when all we were doing was walking across the floor. The walls were thin, we could hear people sneezing and conversations all throughout from our room. We spoke to management about it the next morning because it was scary for me. The lady manager was very nice but we were basically told they couldn’t do anything about it because he was a resident . And then on another note the rooms do not have amenities like at a normal hotel. No microwaves, no ice, they did have a water station but no pitcher for you to use. Our sheets were also stained and there was a pile of Craisins on the floor that was not from us.

Hi crtnysmth310, we sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you had with us. We completely understand your frustrations. We are deeply sorry for not providing space heaters as we promised and for the neighboring disruption. We should have been more accommodating and offered to move you to a different apartment. We will use your feedback as an opportunity to improve and hope you consider staying with us again so we can better live up to expectations.

Loved my stay here. The space is modern, sleek, beautiful and spotless. My room was exactly as advertised. Concierge help is a text or phone call away and they’re very responsive. Getting extra towels, shampoo, an iron, etc is self service, which I loved. I did not miss a physical reception desk, room keys, plastic do not disturb cards or having to call room service — not one bit! Great stay.

This place is such a gem! It’s quiet and calm, a brand new space that was perfectly clean. The app was awesome with all the details needed for check in, etc. If you are a pretty easy-going traveler, this place will be perfect for you. The building and area was very safe, located closely to a ton of restaurants, city bikes, and only a few blocks from the water front. We paid to keep our car in the parking lot across the street ($55 for Fri-Sun) and the price was reasonable considering most hotels charge $40+ for parking per day. Rooftop bar was relaxing and cool, all around a great choice. So happy we stayed here!

This property has significant issues. It is definitely NOT worth the $250.00 per day that we had to pay. The entrance is very dark. A flashlight is required to see the keyhpad. The essential # key is worn out, and does not always respond. The stairs to the rooms are dark and a small flashlight is useful to avoid missteps. The coffee maker leaks and does not really produce hot water. It is lukewarm.. We did not expect the coffee to
be any good, but we thought the water might be hot enough for eat. It was not. We We borrowed a spare kettle from friends so we could have hot water. The tea was surprisingly good. Amenities are sparse; There is one bottle of waterand a bag of potato chips. We don't expect food, but we do expect a few bottles of water for the pricetag. Also, apparently they add an extra $150.00 because the assume you will break something, plus $400.00 that you only see after you submit your payment. Finally, getting an access code that worked required a half hour phone call with a patient person. It is nice that he was patient and eventually overrode the issue. But the original key code provided simply did not work. A real tea kettle, proper outdoor lighting, and a working sign-in process would go far. Be sure to bring flashlights.

We regret the significant issues you encountered during your stay, Jerry. Your feedback regarding the entrance's darkness, worn-out keypad, and inadequate lighting on the stairs is concerning, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We're also sorry about the issues with the coffee maker and the lack of hot water, as well as the sparse amenities provided. Rest assured, we take your feedback seriously and will work diligently to address these concerns to enhance the overall guest experience. We appreciate your insights and hope to have the opportunity to exceed your expectations in any future visits.

The Queen is exactly what I felt like. The building was secure with individual access codes to the building, elevators and even share spaces which made us feel safe. The unit itself was impeccably clean and everything we needed was present. The bed was beyond comfortable, we did not complain once which is rare for my partner. We chose this Sonder because of its distance to South St and other landmarks. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted and needed to go, the suggested places in the app are helpful and helped guide us. I enjoyed my stay and will book another Sonder when traveling. We didn’t need or use any of the support features I’m the app but they were easy to find and easy to navigate.

my boyfriend and i took a quick weekend trip to philadelphia and decided to stay here, not only was it the cheapest option but looked to be one of the nicest (in my budget at least). the building was very nice and very clean, and so was the room. it was nice and centrally located and the parking garage across the street was a pleasant surprise. I particularly appreciated the contactless check in where we didn’t have to speak with anyone or see anyone when checking in or checking out, it made things so much easier and quicker (and maybe this is just a new york - where i’m from - thing, but i also really appreciated not having to put down 100$ on security deposit at this place). We were pleased with the ability to use our streaming services in the tv and the other amenities were to standard as well. And, the building was very secure and very safe with lots of locked doors throughout the building, this made us feel very safe which is always appreciated especially when staying in new places and possibly questionable areas. We travel a lot and stay in many hotels, and this one was certainly one of the nicest and easiest stays we’ve had, we will certainly be looking for other sonder hotels in our future travels!

This place has a great location with numerous restaurants nearby, including an authentic German beer garden. However, the room tends to be noisy, with sounds from neighbors next door or above you. Additionally, there's a significant noise coming from outside my window. I'm not sure what machine is out there; perhaps it's the AC? Strangely, the noise only stopped almost an hour after I turned off my AC. It's a bit perplexing.
