I loved the modern decor, friendly staff, generous sized rooms (real bathroom doors too!), and restaurant setup in this hotel. Only dislike, a glass of average Sauv Blanc was $16 (um yikes)! Overall great work stay.
I have to start by saying THANK YOU to DeVaughn Milligan, who greeted me at the front desk and throughout my stay, showed the highest level of hospitality, professionalism, patience and customer service. When I arrived, to check in, I was in a bit of disarray - I didn't have a reservation, I was flustered from an incident from a nearby hotel and at the same time I was concerned for a family member at home. I couldn't even get my words out fluently when I came to the front desk. Mr. Milligan did not rush me or try to finish my sentences. He listened patiently, helped me secure a reservation, helped me understand what to do if I had to leave early (because a possible situation at home) and assured me that my stay would be comfortable as he saw that I was in a discomforted state. And he was correct. Upon entering the room, I literally exhaled. I was on the 14th floor (of 15). The room temperature was comfortable upon entry and I did not need to adjust it all weekend, the room & bathroom was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable. I enjoyed restorative mid day naps and night time sleeps. The gym was well equipped and quiet with ample sanitizing supplies, a water machine and cold and dry towels. I was glad for a well equipped gym because it truly helped me decompress over the weekend. In addition to Mr. Milligan's service, the entire front desk team and valet team were courteous, personable, kind and thoughtful. I enjoyed chatting with them on my way in and out. They made it a point to ask how I was and reiterated for me to let them know if there was anything I needed. People say that all the time and you wonder if it is true. I must say that the staff I interacted with between March 9-12, 2023, truly meant it, as I did ask for recommendations of restaurants, support with my baggage, and other odds and ends. I am sorry I did not get their cards so I could list them by name. In addition to Mr. Milligan, there were three Black/African American men on the valet team and two BlackAfrican American women on the front desk team. As a Black/African American woman myself, I want to share that I was coming in and out of the hotel during both early morning and late night hours and I felt especially safe and cared for as I was greeted by the men serving in the valet and by the front desk staff as I passed through the check in area daily. I do not take this for granted during times when being Black and being a woman does not always invite comfort but I was nothing but comfortable during my stay and with the staff on duty. The best kept hotel would not rate high if the spirit and attitude of the people working there was not positive. The combination of quality accommodations plus genuine caring service truly helped turn a challenging weekend into an uplifting one. For this, I am thankful. …
My husband and I just stayed at The Westin Philadelphia. It was an fabulous experience and I will absolutely stay there again. Why? Not just because it's a convenient location for visiting the museums, but, wow, the customer service was exceptional. At the front desk, Mr. Milligan, was welcoming, personable and knowledgable about the surrounding area. I like smilers and he was always smiling; one of those people with a happy heart. He made us feel happy to be there. My only criticism about our stay was the bed sheets were stiff and not soft and snuggly. Stay at The Westin Philadelphia and see for yourself that it is totally worth booking.
The room was sizable. Comfortable bed. The water in the shower was either scalding or freezing. And when I requested another robe, it never came. Still, a very good location! I would recommend for a quick weekend. We didn’t eat in the restaurant (24 for an omelette) but I did like the gym. Great for a hotel.
Visiting for a wedding we chose this location for the ease to getting to events. As long time Marriott member with Titanium status I was disappointed with this property. First, the service was excellent and they were very helpful getting upgraded to a suite. The main issue is just that property is just worn out, the furniture shows it age. Parking costs over $60 a night! Just use a parking app and you can park for two nights for LESS than that amount, there are many available within easy walking distance.
I stayed here on Thanksgiving weekend. You have two choices to park your car, $49 for self parking and $65 for valet parking. I chose the valet parking. The valet attendant was very friendly and helpful. Once I entered the hotel, the lobby smelled like flowers. The front desk employees were very friendly and polite. My room was clean and my bed was very comfortable. I recommend this place if your looking for a nice hotel located near all the major tourist attractions in the area.
Beautiful property close to everything you want to see in Philly! I love this City and would definitely choose the Westin again. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and everyone I interacted with including the GM were top notch!
My partner and I stayed at the Westin Philly while in town for the Made in America music festival. We appreciated the amenities (valet, door-to-door baggage/luggage assistance, complementary Starbucks coffee in the morning and in the in-room coffee stations, two comfy bath robes, etc etc). We are grateful for Nicole, Kaci, and the other South Asian fellow who’s name escapes me now but he works with Kaci. Kaci specifically was able to provide us with such high quality care that we made sure to give him a hug before we go - that’s someone who takes tremendous pride in their work and knows a thing or two about hospitality. Kaci took excellent care of us and made us feel like we were visiting with family.
The main entrance is a little tricky to navigate. The elevator at the bottom entrance takes you to the lobby, then you have to get off that elevator and go to different ones to get to the hotel room floors. Once in the lobby, the front desk is welcoming, the bar seems lively and every employee you encounter is friendly. The hotel has many old features still intact to give the atmosphere an older style, which is so cool. Clean rooms with great views, and the hotel itself is attached to The Shops at Liberty Place.
This place has a charming old feel to it, but where it lacks is the basics. There was no soap in my room. No body wash in the dispenser. What is this a motel 8? Even motel 8 gives you soap. Go downstairs at midnight for soap and was handed a sad tube of body wash with no apologies. The bed is bad. The mattress is covered by a loose sheet, not fitted. Gross. The top sheet feels scratchy and old. The mattress sags. The room seems clean enough. The elevator buttons don’t light up when you hit them. Did you call the elevator? Only time will tell. Place doesn’t feel 4 stars. Restaurant is decent. Staff moral seems low and it shows.
