Experience a larger-than-life stay at The Tidewater. This notable piece of history in Philadelphia's Museum District was once a local grain distribution center. The former building was reinforced with the nation's first slip-form construction method. Today, each space inside has a fully equipped kitchen, in-suite laundry, and industrial-style windows. And the rooftop is a perfect spot for marveling at the stunning architecture. We love to cycle iconic Kelly Drive by city bike, passing the rowers on the Schuylkill River. Have your camera ready for the picturesque gardens in Fairmount Park. Or do as Rocky did and jog up the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. You're also within walking distance of the local bars and restaurants dotting Center City. History, art, flavor-packed cuisines, and so much more — it's all waiting to be discovered at The Tidewater.

We’re repeat customers at The Tidewater and love it. We’ve stayed in other Philly locations & this is our favorite. Within a block is a 24-hr paid parking lot-very easy, plus a Target, Starbucks, and access to the museum stretch of road to the Phila Museum of Art (Rocky Steps) and into the beautiful Logan Circle area. Also 2 blocks to Whole Foods and a Wine/Spirits store at the base of the building. We love the roof deck (faces north) and the view of the city skyline from the units on the south side of the building. Each unit is a little different, but all are equally modern, clean, functional and quiet!! The area of Philly and the building itself feels safe and clean. You can’t ho wrong staying here!

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed at this apartment when moving our daughter back for Philly to begin her spring semester at Temple. The property is in a great location in the Museum District close to Target (across the street) and wonderful restaurants. We highly recommend the following restaurants: Pizzeria Vetri, McCrossen's Tavern and Sabrinas (the best breakfast/brunch). We spent a lot of time at Fairmount Park which is a short walk from the property. Great walking trails along the Schyulkill River. We stayed in a studio apartment. It was spacious and very clean. We had a king bed that was very comfortable. Lots of pillows, which was great. Fully stocked kitchen (although we ate out the entire weekend and didn't cook). Very quiet and clean building. Added bonus, there is a liquor store in the building that is accessible directly by elevator.

The studio was perfect as how it was advertised online. I was very impressed with the kitchen amenities. Moderate decor and smells very good on the floors and inside. My unit had a great view of Philadelphia Museum area. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

The roof deck and kitchen were excellent. The view and comfort made me not want to go out at night. Coffee on the roof deck in the morning was a highlight. I will definitely stay there again if I am in Philly.

Nice flat. Good apt. amenities and nice views. Good location. Keypad entry issues were addressed by employee. Target and restaurants nearby. Relaxing stay other than expensive parking. Entrance is on a side street, not 20th street. Walking distance to some sights.

We had an amazing stay. The room was spaceous, the bed was comfortable and the view was really nice (although our room wasn't facing to downtown). Bathroom was big, clean. Appliances were good, we used the washing machine and the stove. Unfortunately the dishwasher was broken. Location was also really good, important sites were in walking distance.

The room was absolutely beautiful. The views alone in the room makes it absolutely worth it. The Sonder team was very friendly and communicative. There was a slight technical difficulty but was resolved by the team right away and made our stay one of the best we’ve ever had. Will definitely book with Sonder once again.

This location was perfect for visiting the art museum and the downtown section of Philly. Close to the stores when things were needed. Also convenient to parking and public transport when needed. Room was large enough for us to spread out although the chairs could been more comfortable. We did not cook but the kitchen seemed well stocked.

We stayed at this property one year ago, again right after Thanksgiving. That was a great experience - clean, fresh looking appointments, fantastic view. In 2022 it is tired, needs paint, living room carpet dirty and stained, dust on the moulding and in the corners. There seemed to be a cutback on the amenities in the kitchen as well. Clean it up and add some love; then we will be back! Great location, and a killer view. Plus we love the architecture . We also stayed at 1600 Callowhill this trip and it was a far superior experience.
