Let’s start with the positives: 1. Most of the front desk staff were friendly and helpful; 2. Housekeeping was nice and responsive; 3. Good location; 4. Nice gym; 5. Decent breakfast. The negatives: 1. Sleeper sofa was not comfortable. They’re never super comfortable, but this one was especially bad. 2. A bit noisy at night. 3. Sheets for sleeper sofa has multiple holes; 4. Bathroom constantly got wet due to small half glass door on shower; 5 Hotel staff did not mention free breakfast or where to go for it - we learned from other guests. Would I stay here again? Yes, possibly, if I didn’t need to use the sleeper sofa. I might also explore other options, but there were some good things about this hotel, so I wouldn’t rule it out.
I have been traveling to Philadelphia for business several times within the past few months. I was hesitant at first with the bad reputation that Philly has gotten lately on crime etc. The first time I checked in, Marc, Aaron and Rock were immediately offering assistance, recommendations for food, directions etc. They were each extremely helpful, friendly, accommodating and made me feel completely comfortable. I have come back and stayed several times since and feel welcomed and safe by them every time. I cannot say enough how much their smiles and friendly professional manner has been appreciated! Thank you again to Marc, Aaron and Rock.
One of the worst plumbing and shower experiences ever, sadly endured for 11 days. Hot water only comes out of pipes after running for 10-15 mins, and no guarantee if it will stay on - interchanging hot, then cold, scalding hot, ice cold for the most annoying longest showers ever. No full shower door or curtain, just that half glass crap, so you’re even colder if not standing directly under the intermittent scalding hot or ice cold water, and of course the floor of the bathroom is soaking wet from all the water that pours out because of the half shower door. Shower head had to be replaced, but the fixture was not the right size, so the shower head just kept falling off. They use those hand-held shower heads on the cord, not just a traditional freakin shower head. There’s also no protectant on the base of the tub, so slipping is an immediate danger, it’s incredible slippery when soap gets down on the floor of the tub. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good and the staff was nice, and the kitchen was decent enough to cook in, although the fixtures and paint throughout is very shoddy work. Definitely not as nice as the pics paint it out to be. The gym is pretty well equipped, lots of good size dumbbells, but the machines need to be serviced and there are roaches crawling around the floor of the gym.…
Great location! Great staff, good rooms for a city hotel. Very convenient location for sightseeing and public transportation. Breakfast was very good. Staff incredible, made my stay feel welcome and safe. Can't wait to go back!
Located right on Penn Square. Great location. Reading terminal market is a few blocks away. Friendly check in by Jonathan. Comfortable clean rooms. Rooms have be updated since my last stay in 2018. Breakfast is plentiful. Parking is self park in a public garage or valet.
Excellent stay. Staff was very professional and friendly. Walking distance to many things that define Philadelphia. Train and subway stations nearby. Fitness center is well-equipped. Planet Fitness is a 10-15 minute walk. Parking is a bit expensive but is on par for downtown parking in any large city. Hot breakfast with good options. Will definitely stay here again.
Incredible location! Comfy and modern apts/rooms! Fantastic staff! From check-in to saying farewell, a great experience at this property. As Platinum Elite members, we understand the standard of the brand but don’t always see it. Walter and Ti @ Reception provided the nicest welcome (like they knew us, which they did not) and local restaurant recommendations - where they, as locals, like to eat. Totally appreciated. Only got better from there. This is definitely our new Philly home away from home!
I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Stayed here for a conference at the Philadelphia Convention Center. This is a really fantastic location for anything at the convention center. It’s a 5 minute walk away. Tons of restaurants and things to do nearby. The staff was phenomenal. Valeting the car was very easy. Front desk staff and management were attentive and very prompt. The room itself was gorgeous and updated. Very large. Great amenities. Had a kitchenette. Very comfortable bed and sofa. I will never stay anywhere else when coming into the city. I recommend this place not only if you have a conference to attend but also for a visit to the city due to its central location making it easy to walk to everything.
Located in a former bank building right next to City Hall, this property more than met my expectations. First, the warm welcome from the desk staff, not just upon check in, but each time we came and left was much appreciated. The breakfast was adequate and again the staff there friendly and helpful. Although I didn’t use it, I overheard the staff patiently explain how to use the waffle maker for several guests. The room was clean and the kitchen had all you would need - even though I never made more than coffee. One odd thing- ride share could never seem to find the exact location of this Residence Inn. The front desk explained it’s best to enter the address- 11 N Juniper, which does not correspond to the address on the Marriott website nor the ride share app. Using the Juniper address worked like a charm, however.…
Large hotel. The room was clean and fairly modern. We self parked a block away at the 12th and Filbert garage for $50.00 for about 20 hours. The main lobby where you check in is very minimalistic with no seating. Never had to wait long for elevators. The bathroom was very small. Also, the sound proofing seems good as we could not hear other guests or regular traffic from our 8th floor room overlooking Market Street. However, late at night we could hear many motorcycles and motor trikes with no apparent mufflers BLASTING their music. From reading reviews from other hotels on Market and Broad Streets, this seems to be a common problem at many hotels.
