Outstanding property at the best location. Right across the street from Independence Hall and around the corner to Reading Terminal Market where we eat all weekend. Walkable to all the major attractions of Philadelphia. We check in at one pm. A bit early for the four pm check in but was shown to our upgraded king bed studio on a high floor. And a late check-out was added which was very much appreciated. The room is beautifully decorated and clean. Same as the photos. The small kitchen has all the utensils pot and pans to cook a full meal. The amenity is a lot more upscale than most Residence Inn I have stayed at. Not the shampoo and conditioner on shower area wall. : ) The breakfast buffet is also more upscale than most Residence Inn featuring Cage Free eggs which is delicious. All the staff is attentive and courteous at this hotel. Valet parking is very expensive at this location. But you can left your car after check-out and pick up before six PM the next day. That is still a lot cheaper than parking in local garage if you are planning to be in the area the next day.

After what was a great weekend at the Residence Inn, the tail end was able to overshadow the whole experience. Upon my check out, I am met with the valet who indicated that my car key was lost. Moreover, that my car was fine and it was located. Traveling on a schedule and with small children, needless to say this news was not met with very much enthusiasm. I couldn't believe my ears. The parking manager indicated that they would call a locksmith and have a new key issued. She also indicated that I would be compensated for such an occurrence; which was RARE. An additional bonus points would be added to my BonVoy, which didn't even amount to a stay in a reasonable location. With my new key in hand and the promise of compensation for the experience, I left in confidence. I didn't have reason to believe otherwise. Come Tuesday morning, I didn't see the reimbursement for the parking or stay. In fact, I saw that my card was billed twice for parking. I decided to reach out to the hotel directly to inquire on this compensation for the experience. It was indicated that compensation wouldn't typically be issued because I pre-paid via a third party vendor. Another loop hole. What was also learned by the associate at the front desk lobby, that the actual hotel wouldn't be at fault as the parking amenity is a third party vendor. How convenient to wash your hands of any liability or compensation. The price of $65 a day for parking will not protect your car or key from negligence. Not only did I reach out to Expedia to help in the matter (third party pre-paid vendor) they indicated that management was not willing to be accommodating our experience. Very disappointing and not how I saw the Marriot brand to be represented. As a side note, I should have thought twice to leave my car with an attendant and surrounding area that reeked of marijuana. Save yourself the time and expense, stay at another location. It is clear that the management at this hotel was happy to wash their hands of any fault and just let the customer be disappointed. Customer service no longer exists.

This hotel is not for romantic escapes. Located very centrally it offers a nice option for overnight stay. Unremarkable decor but well maintained. Very clean. Staff is nice and welcoming. My room was spacious and adequately supplied. The complimentary breakfast exceeded my expectations: more options than usual to choose from.

Marc Hutchinson at the front desk has on multiple visits enhanced my family’s stay immeasurably while visiting Philadelphia. Staff overseeing the morning breakfast area also friendly and attentive. Hotel centrally located, across from city hall, around corner from Reading Terminal Market, walking distance to most major museums and historic sites.

It was a good experience staying there. The only thing that made the score down was the bed was dirty and had red stains and a food item on the covers. Overall I would rate this experience a 8.5/10.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The staff is unbelievable! Everyone is so friendly and caring, especially the breakfast staff. I have never had such sweet staff. The room was clean and functional. We had a beautiful view of City Hall. The gym was spacious and clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel is in the best spot for touring the city on foot. I highly recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed in many different Residence Inns, but here, they are just smaller-than-average older hotel rooms. We had 3 rooms on different floors so I was able to see multiple rooms. The “kitchenette” was just a tiny table next to the closet with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There was only one (slightly broken) chair in the room. No sink, plates, full-size fridge, couch, or table that you find in basically all other Residence Inns. Having said that, it’s clean, had a comfy bed, and the free breakfast was fine. A normal, average, small hotel room in a city. But if you are looking for a typical extended-stay Residence Inn experience, this doesn’t resemble that at all. Marriott (who owns the hotel) should have used one of their other brand names on this hotel, so they don’t disappoint because it doesn’t meet the expectations of the hotel name.

Enjoyed my two day stay. The location is great. It is located nearby many attractions and in an easily walkable area. Yes, there are closed businesses and homeless people around, but nothing scary, more sad. Downtown areas are not what they were. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and I slept well. Only concerns in my room was the smaller size of my bathroom counter, there were drawers I could use, but not much counter space. Also, there was no direct light source at the work desk which made it harder to review papers and take notes. Breakfast was good, elevators slow.

Easy arrival and check in process. We had requested a high floor because I had read about the noise from the street. We were assigned the 12th floor which is about midway up the building and it ended up being fine noise wise from what I can tell there are two different views, the back parking lot view or one that faces the rest of the skyline. I wasn’t happy with our parking lot for you, but oh well. When we arrived, our room didn’t have towels, but I called and some were brought up immediately. Our room, which was a studio queen was somewhat oddly situated. The front hallway contained a high top dining table, with the rest of the room (except for a couch) completely out of view from that table. You then turn the corner and the kitchen is on the right and then keep walking straight ahead into the queen bed. The bathroom is beyond that. One of our outlets didn’t work next to the bed, but there were plenty of other outlets in the room. The comments I have read about the showers is true, the partition doesn’t really block out the water at the bottom where it meets the tub so you end up with water all over the floor. Overall, the design of the room is fine. We had the breakfast one day and that was nice, and they had plenty of seating and seemed well organized. This was a convenient location. If you forget some thing, there is a Macy’s just around the corner. We were just a couple of blocks from the Reading Terminal Market, which is so fun to walk around - definitely go for a meal! Overall, this is a convenient walking location too many things. There is a Dunkin’ Donuts next-door. One thing I noticed is that Uber has the location for this business wrong or something because there were several times that our Uber drivers had a hard time locating it based on their map. Each time I was able to open the map on my phone and give additional instructions. Overall, this was a good location for our visit, and I would stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location central to everything and easy to find. We were checked in by Mark, who was polite and extremely helpful The room was spacious with a small kitchenette and large bathroom. We had great views across city hall. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a hot and cold option, and the guys were excellent, both was cheery, polite, and helpful. The only downside was the room aircon, which is very noise but cools the room quickly.
