Being a world traveler, I have to say the Kimpton Monaco hotel is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It is centrally located in the heart of Philadelphia, walking distance to all the historical sites, excellent views, beautiful room, rooftop bar overlooking the city with delicious food. The concierge’s Roshid Milledge goes above and beyond any expectation you could ever have!! From speaking with him on the phone, to arriving at this beautiful hotel, he has made my birthday so special, I don’t even have the words to Express my joy . Every hotel should be envious of having someone like him working for their hotel! If you were coming to Philadelphia, this hotel should be a must to stay at!
Excellent staff and comfortable hotel Just checked out of the Monaco and had a lovely one night stay. Although carpets are a bit threadbare and the hotel could use a “freshening up” beds were so comfy, room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. Rochid at the front desk made the difference between a nice stay and my rating if 5….exceptional. It’s rare to meet employees in the hotel business these days who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and appreciated…. Rochid did just that. And Gregory at the bell desk was also so very helpful and welcoming. The attitude of such staff should be recognized and encouraged as it is a rare find these days and makes all the difference.
We love Kimpton hotels, but this one was a disappointment. We were there for 4 nights and were amused that an empty wine glass sat on the soiled, red carpet the entire time. Rooms very tiny, with tiny windows. No coffee available until 7 am. Not up to Kimpton standard. Staff was friendly and location can’t be beat. Would. Or recommend at the price they charge.
My daughter and I came for a mother daughter weekend getaway from Brooklyn. I was running the Broad Street run and she had missed a planned class trip to Philly last year because of the pandemic, so I decided to bring her to the Kimpton for a special time the two of us. When I was planning the trip, I contact the hotel Concierge, Roshid, because I wanted advice on restaurants and sites. Roshid did so much more. Not only did he help to book us appointments at a local spa and recommend great sites and exhibits, but he left a welcome back of goodies for my 13 year old daughter and myself with the kindest note reminding us that we matter and that we deserve this time away. This was above and beyond my expectations, and the smile on my daughter’s face when she opened the bag and note was priceless.. The treats made our day. We were also upgraded to a one bedroom suite at no extra charge. Everyone at the hotel was lovely and accommodating. Our room was comfortable and beautiful. I loved the breakfast…especially the omelette. But the best part of the whole experience was Roshid’s kindness. That’s the kind of service you don’t expect. Really made our experience so wonderful. We will be back. Thank you!…
If I ever return to Philly, I am staying at Kimpton Monaco again. The location could not be better for someone wanting to see the sites- many of which are literally across the street, and others within a 5-15 minute walk away. Felt safe in the neighborhood where the hotel was, even at night. (Uploaded photo is view from our room). The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very clean, and gorgeous in a unique way that made the Hyatt we stayed at next seem very plain and boring. No free breakfast, but free delicious coffee and hot teas in the lobby every morning until 10 am. Highly recommend.
