We stayed only one night here as a stopover on our way from Pittsburgh to Boston. My husband and I were traveling with our two teenagers. The double room was spacious and clean. In addition to the bathroom, there was another sink area with a mini fridge. We never felt crowded.

We stayed one night. This is a little gem. This hotel is in an excellent location. It is close to FDR home and museum and the Vanderbilt mansion. A very good breakfast was available. The rate is very reasonable. All in all a great stay.

The Roosevelt Inn is very close to the Vanderbilt Mansion and FDR Presidential Library and Home. We stayed in a very large, clean room. Your room key also gives you access to a "coffee shop" where there is always free tea and popcorn! There is also a free continental

Utterly charming and pristine clean! From the neon sign welcoming you in, to the quaint front desk and old-school room key, this motel is straight out of a Marilyn Monroe movie. The gleaming pine walls in the “rustic room” are matched with the pink tiled walls in the bathroom.

Thank you for the kind review! We are pleased you enjoyed the retro vibe of our property, particularly the "rustic" rooms which are my favorites too. This winter, while we are closed for our annual winter break, we will be updating the flooring in those rooms. You'll have to come back to check it out. Anyway, thanks again and have a great 2019!

The two of us stayed at the Roosevelt from 1 Nov until 4 Nov, 2018. (We recommend you read the review submitted by 'Hidden Gem' first. We second everything about that review!) We, also, usually stay in one of the 'chain hotels.' This time, when we returned to the West Point

5 minute ride. I am not sure about any type of public transportation. We drove our own car. Eleanor's Val-Kill is a little further maybe 10 minutes. We spent all day at the FDR estate/library, so make sure you give yourself enough time there. and... Don't forget to check out the walk over the Hudson.

Everything is very close. Drive your own vehicle to the FDR Museum and House Visitor's Center. There is ample parking. From here you purchase your tickets for your various tours. Take the shuttle bus to the Eleanor sites because parking is extremely limited there. Seriously small. The ride is less than 5 minutes from the Visitor's Center. From the Eleanor site you can walk up the hill to meet for the Top Cottage, or book a tour with the ride up there. You can only take a shuttle bus to Top Cottage, and it is about 15 minutes from the main Visitor's Center. Can't help with the CIA. It was closed when we were there. If you haven't planned on the Vanderbilt Mansion, add it to your trip. It's magnificent. We stayed at the Roosevelt Inn right in town, and on a nice day, you can walk to the Vanderbilt Mansion.
