Had a great time and adventure with my 3 best friends at the Sproul. Rooms are nice and clean, the lodge is rustic and beautiful but the views are absolutely beautiful. The only thing that rivaled the views was the hospitality of Kareth and Roy. I cannot wait to go back with my family or meet my buddies again. Super... More

Three buddies and I recently spent a long weekend at the Sproul Ranch and we can not say enough good things about the place. The room was nice and big enough for the 4 of us. The icing on the cake is the view of the ranch and the outdoor areas. The pool area was fantastic. There is a hot... More

We stayed in the cabin, which can sleep 6 in a communal space. Lots of nice fluffy towels, enough kitchen stuff to be able to cook. Kerith and Roy, the owners, were so welcoming and friendly. We could see McDonald Observatory from the ranch. The best part of staying here is how dark it is. Sitting around the fire pit... More

We got our key in Fort Davis and got directions to the ranch, about 6 miles out of town. There is a bit of a dirt road and cattle guards before arriving. The room is equipped with a little fridge and microwave. No phone service and no phone to use with the exception of a pay phone. We had no... More

We had a great visit to West Texas. Our room was big, the bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of bed, and all the animals on the ranch were so beautiful. The ranch has dogs that greet you when you get there. The restaurants in town had great food, and the people were just so... More

Stop in town and get your keys or bug Don the ranch hand to let you in. There's a pool, hot tub and propane fire pit to gaze at the stars. The ranch has large game on it, so take your binoculars. Our room had everything and was nice to relax in. We watched the sun rise at 7AM and... More

We loved the land and the accomodations! The beds were comfortable, the water pressure was good, hot water never ran out, and the rooms were rustically pleasant. You can't beat the scenery... absolutely stunning. The age limit on the hot tub was too limiting for us, and the internet was virtually non-existent. The biggest disappointment is that there was no access... More

This is the second time that we have stayed at the H E Sproul Ranch while visiting west Texas. The first trip was in March 2009; the most recent trip was last week (July 2014). The property has so much potential as the setting in the midst of the Davis Mountains is visually spectacular. HOWEVER...unless you are taking part in... More

We stayed at the Harvard Sproul Ranch for three nights with our two kids. On the positive side, the rooms were nicely appropriated and the bunk bed was a hit with the kids. The rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave (helpful since there's no food available on site), and the view is beautiful. It is very peaceful. However, there were... More

I travel for a living and stay in a lot of places like the Sproul. Rarely do I come across a place as dialed in as the Harvard lodge. The entire staff is amazing and accommodating and the owners are great people. I have now stayed there five times and can't wait to go back. Scenery is absolutely amazing and... More
